Malton North Yorkshire 17th October
Hi all,
Its time for the Specialist cars meet in Malton again and I ran a run over in April with a few of you on the last one. I am goin over as the last major run before winter sets in and if a few of you are keen I will get a route planed and take us over. It will have some fast straights and good yorkshire roads .

Always plenty of tasty machines to look at.
Regards

Hi jontymo will do,
I am thinking of the start point here;
Toby Carvery
Ainley Top
Brighouse Road
Huddersfield
HD2 2LB
Which is junction 24 off the M62 which should allow zeders from Lancashire way through to local to meet here because I have a route idea involving some twisty roads very early on in the run and joing the M62 again to then join the north york roads near castleford all the way to Malton. Miles i think 100 mile to the venue and then then what ever the distance is back to your home location due to the nature of the meet people can leave as and when they feel.

Yeo Corky will send you the details of the route once finalised as I am keeping the latter part the same as last with the fast sweeping roads. But I am looking for a more demanding start from xscape area towards Howden which I think I have done so going Sunday morn for a dummy run in the Micra.
Will keep everyone posted.
Will keep everyone posted.

Hi Stu, are you meeting at xscape or some where else and are you setting off at 7am from that venue. As I am taking a run over tomoz to find some interesting roads.
How does everone feel for a early start then on Sunday 17th? as the roads do start to get bussy the later the moring gets on and its best to get to Malton for 10ish to get a good parking space and as most people leave 12-1 ish to head home.

Had the run over and arrived back in the micra had to set off at 6am otherwise I would still be travelling back Got the route organised now and happy with it. It looks like an early start just waitning for Stu to confirm the venue where he is meeting and time and then workout the set off time from Ainley top Huddersfield. Thingers crossed for dry weather.
It's me.rgf wrote:"supercharged BMW Roadster" - anyone we know?
Can you post the route as I might try to catch with you on the way?
Ta.
Not going to post the route into the public domain, but we can try to arrange a rendezvous point, but it wont be that near to York. Likely to take some small interesting country lanes this time, if the weather's nice. If not, I'll take a more appropriate route.

Okay everyone,
For Sunday meeting Ainley Top Huddersfield/Halifax here 6am to set off at 6.10am;
Birchencliffe Service StationAddress:HD3 3BX
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&biw ... 2810398212
A little change fro the previous location but ideal to fill up the car and then hit the roads from there. If the weather is good I have a little twisty road planed before hitting the motorway just to wake us up and then head over towards the meet location with StuB and others .
Please add name if you can attend;

Hi Stu, thanks for the run and I thought it was very good to say its the back end of the year and fog and damp conditions did not stop us too much making swift progress.
Spent 2 hours cleaning the car to take all that c**p off the car, looking forward to the steam clean and wax oil tuesday then car goes to bed till spring.
Hope to see everyone on the early april 2011 run.

Re: malton
That wasn't a sprint. You'd be surprised what a Z can do. I've had 11 years experience with the car so far and I'm still practising and trying to improve!BRILIE wrote:Hi Thanks for my first run today or should I say sprint! didnt think it would be so rapid but hey ho did my best to keep up didnt know me or the car could go as fast!! thanks for waiting but had to keep waiting for the gt3 bringing up the rear honest The car has not been so covered in s--- since ever nice afternoon to clean it!!!

Today was about 50% most of the time, which was appropriate for the conditions I thought.
As stated at the briefing, you drive to your own limits, not the loon in front.
That GT2 is bloody awesome BTW. Saw off a Hayabusa (bike GSXR1300) in France away from toll booths! He said he got 24 to the gallon today, almost a record
