Sunday 11th September - Cruise & Lunch

Post by TrickyZ1 »

After threatening to run a cruise for a while now, I've come up with the following idea:

Meeting point: Extra services, Derby with Burton: http://motorwayservicesonline.co.uk/Derby_with_Burton

Arrive at 9:15am for a bacon buttie; 10:00am start. You can get V-power here too :D

The route I have yet to finalise, but it will have some input from Spokey - and anyone who's driven any of his routes will tell you how good they are!

A short stop for refreshments around 12:30

We will arrive at The Winery, which I have an interest in, at 3:00pm for a late lunch http://www.the-winery.co.uk

We'll be able to choose food on the day, and I can offer a zroadster special price of £11.45 for 2 courses, or £13.95 for 3 courses. The Sunday menu changes weekly, but always contains 3 roasts (sirloin of beef, packington pork, cider roast ham), plus vegetarian and gluten free choices etc... We'll have our own dining area also.

Please register your interest here - the more the merrier :D

Confirmed:

Tricky
Spokey + 1
Maurice + Andrea
Pingu
Gary w
Mark + Rosey
Brent + Karen
Matt
Tony & Lyn
Ivor + Bindy

Interested:

Bill + Kim

I'm up for a cruise any day before October, when I'll SORN for 6 months :( .

Just noticed that food is at The Winery.

I can highly recommend it. I went there unannounced and was very impressed at the quality and the price. From a Scotsman, that's a major compliment.

I just hope the cruise will be up to the same standard :D .

Hi Karl.
No ,think i`ll give the park a miss this time, much prefer to drive the Zed as it should be driven  Rather than have it parked up in a field,
So its the cruise for us unless the dates change

It was bad enough having to miss Harewood :( but now you are rubbing salt in to the wounds :head:
We'd have loved to join you for this but sadly have other commitments that weekend
Sorry we can't make it to either event :bawl:

I fancy this one :D

I am down for CITP as well but I must admit I prefer events where the wheels go round and round rather than sinking in the field!

Put me on my own (as usual) as interested please Rick. :)

The cruise arranger arranges cruises around their own diary. Sometimes there will be conflicting events, and it's great that there is so much to choose from! :)

Hi Sean

Of course you're welcome to join in! From the starting point to the desination(see my initial post), we'll be covering somewhere in the region of 160 miles. I'll be testing the route week commencing 22nd August and will update the thread at that point. We'll be having a late lunch around 3pm - how long you want to hang around after we've eaten is up to you :D

I've put you down as interested Brent, hope you can make it. I don't need confirmation until a couple of days before the cruise.

I'm going to be doing the recce sometime this week, if the rain stops!
