Was this the Z8 parked by the roadside when we did the Norfolk cruise last summer?
I have a picture of it on my phone

What luck being a steam train enthusiast, Phil, did you realise when you booked up, that Holt was part of the cruise? then stopping alongside your carriage, so that we could tell you we were all going to catch the last train back, and then to top it, having booked in at the Hotel where we were eating our final meal aswell. Perfect :thumb: 8-)

Classic Z FIVE HUNDRED ?

Post by ZZZEMMCO »

The Count down to ZFest 500 is------25% OVER!!!and with All the great efforts of the workers involved, by their hardwork to motivate entries for this event---we have approx 100 paid up --with the greatest savings on ticket prices ending in 5 weeks.April & May have reduced savings and June and July no savings.

Allowing for some last minute sales rushes--We have to start chasing up everyone YOU know with a Z Before its too late- and get owners logging on to www.classicsilverstone.com, or the event will be a sad Wake.

We are organising an increadable display of Mobile tradition for both GB Auto and Motorad--exceeding Munich!!!! Dont miss this "One-Off".

Get chasing NOW--Not tomorrow please. 75% to GO and counting.

Sorry to be a pedant, but are you talking about days, because 100 cars out of 500 is only 20%. :?

It seems to have gained a trailing comma, but perhaps the bigger problem is that the words are in the wrong order. Try this:

Regarding the call for numbers in attending what looks likely to be a fabulous day for the Z fraternity, I guess the use of promotional flyers has been considered ?

I know it can be annoying to find a flyer under your wiper when you return to the car (we all see the usual stuff), but if it relates the the Zed then maybe, just maybe it will spark some interest. If there is something 'corporate' we could use then great. If not do we have a free hand to make up something simple to use - promoting the event and zroadster.net ?

I'm new to the forum and won't be offended if told this is off beam !

Another one going to Silverstone

Post by Renaud »

Yep, this is another one going to Silverstone for the Saturday.

Struggling to imagine what a 500 strong parade lap is going to look like, or how long it will take to get all 500 round. On that note, has anyone worked out how long a line of 500 Z'ds would be?

M four year old son has got it into his head, that as its going to be at a race track, it must be a race. Now that would be a mess!

Regarding the booking: I got the below confirmation back, hope I've booked the correct thing?

1 SAT EARLY BIRD CCM PACKAGE (2XENTRY+V/PASS) at £54.00

See you all there,

Hi VikingSven,

I will be traveling down from Leeds on Fri night but I am not stopping at 'The' Hotel , I will be stopping off at Rugby about half an hour north of Silverstone.

It would still be nice to travel down in some kind of convoy though.

We're going down Friday - not thought about a time yet as there are some others coming from North Yorkshire. No doubt we'll get something arranged before the day.

Numbers update:

Looks like we're at 118 (including 61 from this forum) confirmed as registered from the various zed related forums. There are some flyers available for download in this thread that you can print off and hand to any z owners you see when you're out and about. I'd encourage you to keep a few in your glovebox so that you're always prepared

Its not many weeks now till the special offer finishes so sign up now.
The sight of hundreds of Zs all together will be awesome and doing a lap of Silverstone will be even more amazing.
There is a professional photographer lined up to photograph the action and allow you to buy pictures of your car. Something not to be missed.

I'm hoping to be at Silverstone on the Friday and Saturday with my Zed, with a friend, but don't seem to be able to book the tickets online at the moment. Every time I click on such links as "If you know your car club discount code click here" it just brings me back to the "Buy Tickets" page.

Am I doing something wrong, or is the site down? If I haven't managed it by tomorrow morning, I'll book by phone.

Anyway, hopefully I'll be there on the Friday and Saturday with:

I've just tried the site and it seems correct to me. Notice how the ticket types and prices change after you've entered the code. You need 2xadult entry and vehicle pass - this type of ticket isn't available until you've put the BMWCCGB code in

Hi. I never did get past the "Buy Tickets Now" page (when I clicked on "Car Club Display Package" and it asked me to have the code to hand, it just brought me back to the original page. :head:

Anyway, no problem, I'm all booked up by telephone :) with a confirmation by e-mail for Friday 20th and Sat 21st July, so perhaps you could add me to your list.

My tickets, by the way, came to £83.71 - £64.80 for 2 entry tickets and vehicle pass, £6.48 x 2 for 2 programmes and £5.95 transaction fee and guaranteed delivery.

My pal are I are booked into the Deddington Arms Hotel (about seven miles beyond Brackley on the other side of the M40) for the Friday night.

Myredzed - many thanks for all your hard work.

Printed off some of the flyers as found through the link provided in the earlier post from myredzed - well done again mate.

I visited a soft top specialist in Coventry on Saturday and he is having my car in next Monday to replace the rear screen. He had another Z3 in that he'd just done the same job on and yet another turned up in the 10 mins I was there - so he see's quite a few ! I mentioned the event and it was first he had heard, but made a note to tell his clients.

I'll take him some flyers to hand out. There are many of these specialists and Independent BMW garages as well as the franchised sites, it's worth us dropping in and spreading the word !

Be a great sight if we can bring the magical 500+ Zed's together that weekend. :)

Does anyone know if this event has been touted through all the various Zed related fora in mainland Europe?

I know there are active sites in France, Holland and Switzerland to name a few.

In the past, British Zeds have made the trip to Switzerland for Euro Zed Fests on more than one occasion, so it'd be nice to give the Euro contingent the opportunity to return the favour....

The BMWCCGB have advertised it via their counterparts in Europe so i'd imagine it's made it's way to the non-BMWCC fora in the same way as on here. I'll do some chasing up on that with the club to see what the level of takeup is. I'm getting some participant numbers from Silverstone shortly - last time I checked it was ~20 more than were registered via the zed-related forums so others have heard about it somewhere!
