Just a quick question here... is it possible for a French Z owner to come at the event and put his car on display with us as part of the BMW Car Club???

I'm asking because a few on the French forum seems to be interested to come! They can come only as visitors, but if they could come with us it could be fun!

This is one of the BMWCC organized events that you don't need to be a member of the BMWCC to join in. It is actually a part of the Silverstone Classic, and the BMWCC effectively have a "stand" which the Zedfest forms part of. We had a number of non-UK zeds last time, so I wouldn't have thought it was a problem. Ian (myredzed) may be able to give a bit more advice.

Cheers R.

Hmmmm just had an email from Silverstone, 2 x tickets and an infield pass for £40 + booking fee, I thought the Early Bird booking was supposed to be cheaper ?

Hi Gazza

Image

These are the current prices with the discount code applied - the discounted price being the one in the brackets.

We bought ours back in March and I believe the EARLY BIRD package finished at the end of March and you're now in the ADVANCED PURCHASE PRICES.

We paid £64.50 for the 2 day ticket + booking so saved £11 over today's prices, you obviously save more the more days you book too.

I think the prices you are quoting there Gazza are the individual tickets for non displaying owners i.e. the general public price - whereas ours are 2 people and infield display for the price we are paying.

Snoops & Gazza, We missed the March deadline because we were so tied up with the EAC Battlefield cruise and forgot :head: so we had to pay £59.13 for a Saturday Infield pass ticket + 2 people and a booking fee of £4.13 and a transaction fee of £1.95 (thought the last two were the same thing, anyway they can to make a bit more money) I think it would have been £40 odd. :(
We have also booked Fri & Sat at the Holiday Inn, Northampton. Have you booked your rooms there yet? Snoops. :)

Yes we are going down on Thursday and having Friday and Saturday 2 full days, didn't see much of Silverstone last year with all the hanging about for our lap but what we did see we loved and the music was fantastic so really looking forward to a full 2 days and a relaxing morning and ride back home on Sunday.

And of course anyone can buy them even if they don't have a Z3 or Z4.

As per the second email, are ZR.net organising a forum specific area, it looks like the other forums are?

I have been sent copies of three emails, strange why I'm not on the email list.

As far as a Forum specific area, I'm not aware that .net has organised one. I did think about a sail banner to advertise the Forum.

Gazza, drop a PM to Ian myredzed, he is co-ordinating the parking plan which is due to be released this week. He is going to want numbers for each day so you're going to have to be sharp ish getting people to reply.

Those that are not requesting to be grouped together will still be in the same BMW area and there's probably a good chance that if you are in a convoy together then you will end up parked near to one another I would have thought.

Duncan seems to be concentrating on the hotel and the food co-ordination.

Check your spam box for Duncan's e mails, his distribution list is from Goose who are co-ordinating the ticket distribution so whatever e mail address you used to buy your tickets is where he will be e mailing.

This is a BMWCC organized event, so I would not expect forums to come into it at all. If this has changed, then I would like to know the details of what is/is not permissible.

Robert it seems to be that although we are all under the BMWCCGB banner this is one occasion when forums have the chance of coming together so the club have allowed that within the BMW parking zone.

This is an extract from the e mail of the 27th of June

Apart from that we have been asked by some of the Zed forums to allow them to co-locate so that they can Fly their own banner within the BMW Car Club Wider family. No Regions, Or other model specific interest groups have asked for, gazebo¹s, grouping or anything else.

What we need if anyone wants to make a case for a group is what the interest group is, a nominated contact point and the number of cars on each day that we have to cater for. please do make sure that you specifically have the numbers and that the people are not registering with another interest group as well.

did you not receive that e mail ??

There's been a reasonable amount of debate about forum groups parking up together and it's fair to say that opinion appears to be divided. We're catering for all. If you want to guarantee parking next to your forum chums and have a forum focal point then let me know, if your not interested in that then I don't need to know as you'll be lined up in order of arrival.

The tickets do come from See tickets but this is an extract from Goose web site..

Goose Communications are the promoters, event organisers and proud owners of the long term commercial rights to the Silverstone Classic through a subsidiary company Classic Entertainment Events. If you wish to discuss elements of the event please contact us by using one of the options below.

Currently on the SeeTickets web site it is saying that they expect to start despatching tickets for this event on approximately 7/7/13 and have all despatched by 21/7/13.

I may get a sail banner for promotional purposes, that does not mean that zroadster.net has arranged a specific area. I'm of the opinion that specific Forum areas aren't neccessary.
