Silverstone Classic 2014 25-27 July

I just wondered if anyone was interested in going to this event.

I've posted the list below with all the codes for any BMW to attend this event. Every model is being encouraged to attend.
You do not need to be a member of the BMW club to attend this event or take advantage of the discount.

The code will enable you to get two tickets for the price of one and also enable you to get the car club display pass which allows you to display your car within the BMW display area, without the pass you will have to park in the public car park which is some distance away from the main display area.

Image

These codes are only valid until May 31, and there will be a price increase after March 31 so book early if you can.

Anyone who attended last year will know that we were just about to go for our lap around the Silverstone circuit and the heavens opened, causing the lap to be cancelled. The Silverstone organisers have agreed to reinstate the Parade Lap this year and it will be held on the Saturday evening. People who attended last year will get preferential treatment on allocating places on the Parade lap. Another reason to book early to get your place on the parade lap booked.

After the March 31 price increase, the parade lap places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and the display passes will also be with drawn after May 31. Unlike previous years you will be unable to get any more Car Club Display passes for latecomers.

We are also looking for volunteers to assist the organisers to coordinate some of the Registers, again you do not have to be a member of the club to do this. Specifically we need representatives for the 3,4,5,6,7,i and X Series. If you are prepared to do this please contact silverstone14@bmwcarclubgb.co.uk

So visit http://www.silverstoneclassic.com and follow the car club links to buy your tickets using the relevant code from the above list.

As I said before this is a show for all BMW models (new or old) so tell all your friends and family about this event the more the merrier.

The reason for the codes for different models, was to give the organisers some idea of numbers attending, and to allocate enough space to accommodate those vehicles.
I'm sure if you just follow the group leaving the Holiday Inn Express at Northampton you should be fine.

Booked for the weekend, will be camping at Litchlake farm - proved to be very convenient last year although a little damp on the Saturday evening!

HI All, Im booked for the Saturday, looking forward to it and a big Zed gathering. IS there a cruise meet up before we go in?

Those travelling from further distance stay at the Holiday inn express in Northampton, so everyone seems to meet there and all travel in convoy to Silverstone.
But I'm sure there will be more information near the time.

Quick question:
I'm about to book for the week end. When they ask how many tickets do I take? As this is a package for two person, do I put one ticket? or two?

I don't want to book for one and then recieve only one ticket later on...

You book in the car and that includes the driver and passenger
I hope this is confirmed by another member on here

Ok thanks.

I've booked for the whole week end. I didn't book any hotel as I live in Milton Keynes.

Looking forward for my first meeting with other Zs!

Yes this is correct using the code above means that the ticket price includes entry for your car and two people plus the pass to enable you to park within the display area and not in the public car park.

Hello Perrick,
we should get a mk convoy going, I found out the route the Northampton lot arrived on and joined in last year.

Booked in for Saturday, will be driving up from Epsom on the day so give a wave if you pass.
Was rather hoping to go up in my Scimitar 5a GTE, but the club (which I am a member of) only has spaces for A1 cars and no other area for club cars and rather annoyingly club funds are used to subsidise thier tickets. Glad to see the BMW OC has a more open approach and encourages as many people to attend as possible, very much as other clubs do.

Will hopefully catch up with everyone there ...........

We will be going in our (new to us, Z , seen it again today - its very RED - ready early next week ) - last went 3 years ago in our ( dare I say it, MX5) really enjoyed it - particularly the "parade lap" - pity about the pace car....
Going on Friday & Saturday so hoping for some good weather - so much better to be on a car club stand , with like minded people , rather than in the public car parks

There are a couple of us coming down from Rutland Water on the Friday afternoon Wayne. Looking at the map I guess you would be coming down on the M1 from where you are?

If its not too much out of your way you're more than welcome to join us at Rutland Water on the Friday. We're on holiday there before the trip to the Holiday Inn.

I think you only get the ticket pack a week or so before the event.

Also worth noting I tried to book the holdiay Inn Express Northampton using the BMW discount code (I know cheeky of me ;-) and here is no availability left on that code. Rooms are available at £99. so instead I have booked into a hotel in Milton Keynes for £60 incl breakfast ;-)

I didn't know there was a cutoff for getting inside. Looks like I will give it a miss this year if so. Shame because I was going to be showing the Hamann gear off.

The statements below are taken from the original post....

"The code will enable you to get two tickets for the price of one and also enable you to get the car club display pass which allows you to display your car within the BMW display area, without the pass you will have to park in the public car park which is some distance away from the main display area.

Unlike previous years you will be unable to get any more Car Club Display passes for latecomers."

I have never been before so I don't know the extent of the limitations but i understand from what has been put that the tickets are now 1 per person and you now have to park in a car park that is some way from the actual show.

Hopefully someone will be along shortly to confirm

Yes its is correct now the deadline to buy your tickets has passed, you can still buy tickets but you will not be able to buy the display pass which enables you to park in the display area with all the other makes of cars. You have to park in the public car park which is some distance from the display area, although there are buses to take you back and forth.

Look out for a cancellation, Ragerover on Z3M Coupe site had a mix up between himself and his son, each thought the other had booked the tickets (result neither did a booking). He put out a Help Request on Z3M Coupe forum and was lucky enough to get a pass straight away from someone who wasn't able to go. All he is doing is getting vehicle registration number changed. I think the original pass was for a roadster so they must have been a regular on here.
Check with Car Club to see if they have reserve list in case if anyone else has to give up their ticket.
