Just noticed this isnt on the events listing - is it still on for next saturday? Do we have route, start time, meet location etc?

I collected the car from Sheffield today and the LHR shock absorber is leaking. So, I'll be missing this, unless you guys think you can keep up with a Smart Car :D .

Been checking the weather, and hail stones the size of golf balls is forecast. Maybe we should postpone a few weeks, other people might be able to join us to?

Yes I'm thinking the weather is looking bad in the pm just where we are going!! Anyone dead set on continuing? Can you suggest good dates for re-arranged cruise?

Sorry guys but I have to postpone the cruise due to bad weather forecast. If it was just damp I would go for it but it seems like we may have some very bad downpours and it will be no fun.

Please advise alternative dates that will work for you - how about 2-weeks in on 21st June?

Regards,
Mark

I just had Audrey the beast (or pussy cat compared to yours) cleaned today ready for it but probably a good idea, sounds like its gonna be a minger tomorrow. For us we are busy the next 2 saturdays (14th/21st) but free the saturday afterwards - understand if 21st works for everyone else though.

PS - looks a great route

I'm sorry that you've had to delay the cruise, but I'm glad as it gives me a chance to come along. I just hope that the US Postal Service pull their finger out and get me my dampers, pronto :) .

Re-arranging this is a bit of a problem now...I picked up a speeding ticket Friday so Im not able to exceed the limit until 6 points come off my licence 7th July. Any more points before then and I'm doomed! So looking at dates after 7th Im struggling until after Silverstone. Mid August looks like the first time it can be run...

I regularly do 150% of the speed limit and sometimes 3x the posted limit  . No points since May 2000.

I dont want to sound patriachal, but I dont think we should be promoting breaking speed limits on a post organising a cruise. If nothing else, it could put off people attending a cruise if they thought that they were going to be travelling at 150 % ofthe speed limit. The cruises I have been on, whilst being 'spirited' have remarkably tended to be within the speed limits. I too have been within 3 points of losing my licence which would mean I wouldnt be able to work at my present job. 150% the national speed limit would mean you lose your licence even with no points.

Re-reading my post its badly written. Im avoiding driving where i can to minimise risk. When on a cruise you drive at the speed you want. If some want to go faster thats a choice they have.

The speed limits that I was referring to were 8mph and 5mph  .

Having being moaning on about speed limits, could I also add that everyone should attend a Deano cruise at least once. Always an unforgettable experience, well organised, and taking place in the best countryside in the world.

20mph in a 5mph zone yesterday = a new level of utter wrecklessness  .

I agree about the Deano cruise. I'd also recommend a Spokey cruise if there is another.

My last Deano cruise, 2010, was one of the fastest runs ever. Another memorable run was a few years prior to that where we were in the lakes for a few days. The final day was a run back through Tebay, wow....fast.

Spokey's and Deano's cruises are good fun

By the way, if the cruise is on in August then I am free on weekend of the 9th and weekend of the 30th only.

I'll give them the good news tomorrow and after they rant and rage, I'll remind them that I'm self-employed. Meantime, you can put my name down :D . If I get a job up there, I may even be at Wetherby with my sleeping bag (it wouldn't be the first time :) ).
