I'd like to attend Deano but might have to go to a wedding in the afternoon so can't confirm at the moment.

Will probably be a last minute decision so treat me as not attending and I'll try to post on the Friday before if I can attend.

I presume I'll be able to keep up in a 3.0?!

You won't need a map and you will not need to worry about keeping up. There is a cruise etiquette guide somewhere on here written by Spokey I think. Basically, the car in front of you will always try and make sure that he can see the car behind him. If you disappear from view, then the car in front will usually hang back a bit until you appear in view again.

You will be fine.

If you have a sat-nav, the itinery will be along soon.

I have sent the .itn out to pingu but don't have more email addresses. If you want the file mail me at mark.dean@hotmail.co.uk and I will get you a copy. Route takes in part of North Yorkshire Moors in the pm and some roads I like to the south and east of York too. In the afternoon after lunch I have two stops so time to chill out a bit. 144 miles driving so ensure you have enough fuel. There is fuel at the start point at Wetherby Services (not surprisingly!).

See you all Saturday.

ITN looks good. The advantage of sat-nav is that you can see what the road is like ahead.

Only the older TomTom units will take the ITN folders as I found to my expense! The new ones wont take them!!
The last to do so were the Xl and XXL.. which you can still purchase.

It really is as easy as connecting to your computer, opening up the TomTom directory and dropping your ITN file into the ITN folder..
Turn on the machine and select the option to load route from the menu

gutted I can't make this run, always loved the Yorkshire run outs...

Looking forward to this run assuming we can make it - looking 70/30 at the moment - is there anyway to contact you Deano if the worst happens and we cant make it? (or get lost)

btw... will be in the 2.0l as well this time as the M is currently in Southampton as my work car so will try and keep up

Hope you have a great run out

Whilst you are out and about, you may see lots of Triumph TRs and Stags around the Harrogate area as we are having our annual get together over this weekend too.

Remember BMW own the Triumph car brand! :)

I'm pretty disappointed I'm not going to be able to make this now.

Got a wedding from mid-afternoon in Warrington so timing will probably be to tight and I want to do some work on the car this weekend anyway.

Have fun everyone who's going!

Just back great day, hope my weeny 1.9 didn't hold you all up too much.
Great roads in Gods own country punctuated with excellent refreshment stops
Thanks to all the Guys and girl for some great company and a big thank you to Mark (Deano) for organising and showing us around his barmy V8 (only joking) a triumph of engineering and shoe horning.

I'd been to the showground at Harrogate today.

On the way back just after where the A1 joins the M62 at around 4.40ish I was overtaken by a silver Z4 with the reg ending in "UFO".

I said to my wife "I think that is Maurice the Martian". She looked at me as if I'd lost my marbles.

I was in a white Triumph Stag by the way.

That poor car! Bet with sighed with relief when Bill sold it on thinking it was moving on into semi retirement, a steadier and more refined life!!!
Glad you dodged the weather and had a good day, I'd have loved to have come along but to much on this weekend. :)

Cheers

Glad everyone had a good time and the weather was kind to us. I was really pleased with the roads for the run one of the better routes I have done :)

Sadly I lost the group a few times. Blame it on tags for pushing me along the road all day! Arriving at the lunch stop we were three only:
Image

Shame Maurice wasn't fast enough to keep up on the way to Kilburn. What happened? There was another everyman for themselves run for the last stretch. I nearly gave tags the slip. Lost the rest but we all made it to Boroughbridge for farewells.

See you next time.
