No noise in the rear

Hi, I have only had my car a couple of weeks and just discovered that my subwoofer just farts at me and the speakers behind the seat do not work at all. Now I have used the search bar but not found what I am after yet except that I think I have this HK set up. I would like to change my head unit but need to get the speakers working first.
Could anyone give me any advice on what and how to check first, I have only tested the speakers so far by putting the fade to 100% rear and with the volume at max I can just hear a faint drum form the sub and nothing from the speakers, also how does the sub box lid come off, I did not want to force it just in case.

Hi

The sub cover just pulls off, put finger either side and gently pull
The cone of the sub might have come off, just push it back in

Hi

The sub woofer cover just pulls off four pins each corner
The sub might have come adrift inside, just push it back
They are a bit naff, with the roof off volume up they drone and vibrate
