Still for sale, price lowered.

Come on, a 3.0 Z3 for less than 6k?

What a shame!

Wrong time to sell in the current financial climate and wrong time of year.

Can I suggest you put LOOK LOW VED !!!! very prominently in the advert title?

I think most people think a 3.0 will cost a lot to tax and the later ones do, costing pretty much the same as the S54M.

Good luck!!!

That is a cheap fast car! and the only non-M Z3 to consider IMO! I think it's just because the market is dead at the moment, so unless it's a giveaway (even more than that) price it won't sell I'm afraid.

OK the miles are a bit on the high side, but that 3.0l is virtually indestructible. What an absolute steal for a 2001 3.0l Z.

Keep it until spring would be my advise, I bet you'd shift it no probs then.

I’m not convinced, I’ve been trying to sell my 2.8 with 56k since spring and it wouldn’t even go at £5000

Yours is 3 years older though and the 3.0l cars generally fetch a bit more. Can't deny the slow market at the mo though :?

Your right mine is older and I wasn’t trying to compare the two, I was trying to say mine wouldn’t even sell in the spring.

I know!

Tax is due at the end of this month, so I guess I may as well stump up for 6 months in the hope it sells early next year.

I was thinking about just holding onto it for keeps, but with our 1st baby due next spring :) I can't really see it being particularly practical any more :(

I know that I am practically giving it away ... but I just don't get a chance to use it. It just sits there under the car cover.... :(

You are giving that car away for nothing now mate.

I would advise you keep it until Easter and try and sell it then for at least the same money. I don't think it is gonna go anywhere in November or December I am sorry to say. :(

For comparison, I paid £4500 for my 97 2.8 with hardtop, but only 38k proven miles, 3 weeks ago, privately.
Not sure if this was good or bad as prices of all big engined cars seem to be falling fast.

With a hard top I think you got a good deal, I have a 98 2.8 F/BMW/SH with 56k on the clock and I would hope to get the same money for it without a hard top.
PS I paid £11000 for it 3 year ago.

Unfortunately prices have been plummeting - for all cars. You need to put it on at under £5,000 if you want to sell it.

For comparison you can get an e46 330CI with below average mileage for £6,000, and a 328CI for £4.5...

An E60 530i can be had for less than 10k. Hope that puts things into perspective.

Sadly this car just isn't being used at the moment, and won't get any use at all after baby arrives in March.

MOT just carried out so valid until Jan 2010.

Well, the car is sold!

Not sure if I should be :) or

I think overall I am :) because it was bought by a lovely chap from Ayrshire (hello Jim if you read this!) who seems to love the car almost as much as his daughter does!

Thanks to everyone for their help & advice over the years. It is strange not having a Z3 in the house after 2 years of a 1.9 and then 6 years with the 3.0.

Anyway, as the Z3 departs, we prepare for a very important arrival - our first baby is due in about 6 weeks :P

I really wish I was buying a Zed at the moment and not selling - there are some great cars out there going for nothing!

Hi Chris, could not register on web site untill today, very pleased with car which you have kept in excellent condition in every respect, since getting it I have found not one thing that needs done, fixed repaired or whatever, I nearly purchased an old MGB which I have owned 4 off in past along with TVR etc but the driving experience in the Z3 is brilliant! Thank you Chris and best wishes for new arrival. :D

I have now taken ownership of this beautiful car. Jim was an absolute pleasure to deal with and the car was better than he described, far better. I had given up hope of finding a good one after seeing crap after crap. I will now never sell this car. I hope me and jim can get the z3 and the z4 together sometime when the weather is better.

Many thanks to all for now. Hope you have as much fun in car as I did and looking forward to a run over that beautiful part of country where you are in Z3 and Z4. Roll on the summer! JBD :D
