BMW Z3 Complete Chrome Door Handles/Covers - NEW UNUSED
Hi,
I have some BMW z3 parts/accessories for sale - can probably fit many BMW models but when I bought them they were for my MRoadster.
Let me know if interested and any questions.
Here they are on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0643556928

Are the Chrome parts genuine? Can I not fit the chrome handle/surrounds to my existing door handles?

I think you can fit the surrounds which are a seperate part number but to get the actual chrome handle (ie the bit that you lift up) you have to change the locking mechanism.
I queried this with the seller via eBay as there are keys shown on the pics and he has confirmed that as you are changing the actual locking mechanism your ignition key will no longer work the doors if you fit these.
Obviously not a problem whilst your central locking is working but I guess you would/should carry the extra key around with you if the central locking fails.
I would have bought them but I carry enough keys as it is

Looks very much like the lock barrel is a separate part, so if the come pre-assembled, you should still be able to swap out your existing lock barrel.

You can buy the chrome plastic outers from your dealer for around £11 each. These aren't covers, but replace the black plastic ones.shantybeater wrote:Are the Chrome parts genuine? Can I not fit the chrome handle/surrounds to my existing door handles?
Both the black and chrome come complete with new gaskets.
The Handles have one day to go on the ebay auction and they have bids on them so they will definately sell.

You may get trouble from USA bidders.. aren't these for a RHD car?Hylts wrote:30 mins left on the auction: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0645700423

By the looks of it they are indeed for an RHD car, as only one handle has a lock barrel and keyhole.OXO wrote:You may get trouble from USA bidders.. aren't these for a RHD car?
Some cars have keyholes both sides, so for the covers, you need to buy the ones to suit your car. In diagram I linked to above, you are only seeing RHD variants and the bottom two are the ones without the keyhole (Remote Locking = yes).
