Got mine from here http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Shropshire-BMW-Parts?_rdc=1 less than £20 inc postage and working fine after 9 mths. Think it was an e36 rear.

Try BMW breakers like Quarry Motors (Sheffield).

got mine off FabDirect cor £20 delivered - they are the same off the E36 3 series. Check out the knowledge base on how to replace these, with some time and patience you will save a lot of money

I bought a good used actuator on ebay for about £8 and fitted it following the knowledgebase article. This turned out to be quite easy BUT, when I removed the old actuator I cleaned it and sprayed some silicone lubricant inside and it worked perfectly! Keeping it now for a spare. May well be worth a try if you have the time or can't find a reasonably priced replacement.
