Billet seat belt guides

Post by OXO »

From the other thread, DougW will make seat belt guides if I can send him a design file.

Before I start, are there any suggestions?

Maybe with a slighty wider base say just under the thickness of the seat help spread the load and stop it cutting into the leather.

Try and keep them OEM in appearance imo, and offer the option of black anodized like the bonnet catches.

Don't forget to post over on z3mcoupe.com too!

Any idea on prices for a pair yet?

How easy to fit though? I didn't think replacing the guides was an easy task?

I'm pretty sure it involves removing the seat covers to access a rear plate with bolts in, i can't see how else it could be done in a tidy fashion?

Ther was a guide I saw, I think on here, which involved drilling a hole in the original items and screwing them into place. An option to have them pre-drilled to fit in this way might be good?

I've got sports seats and the seat occupancy sensor would have to be removed in order to take the cover off.

I'm at doing the job some time in the near future. I'll let you know how I do it when the time comes.
