Very sad moment for me - FOR SALE Z3 2 litre

Dear friends,
I have a sad announcement, but it is better that you all hear it together, rather than through gossip on the grapevine.

I never thought this day would come, but my beloved and I are to part. It has not been an easy decision, and we have thought for a long time and shed many a tear in coming to the conclusion that this is the only way forward for us both. Please don't be sad for us or worry.

I have loved her from the moment I saw her and since we got together I have indulged her every need and enjoyed every second of our time together. There is no bitterness and I hope she will find someone to care for her in the future as much as I have. I will think about her always and cherish the time we had.

So if you know anyone who wants my lovely Z3 for £5k do let me know.

She is a gorgeous rare Sienna Red, June 2000 (X reg), 2 litre and has only done 55K. MOT passed last Friday + 6 months tax. 4 green service lights showing, Inspection 2 carried out last autumn. Plenty of chrome -roll bars, grille, windscreen surround etc.

I can't believe I am doing this but I have to bite the bullet. I hope someone can put me out of my misery quickly so we can have a clean break.

Thanks all, Roy

Sadly, it is the end of this chapter of my life. A need has been filled. Unfortunately, having the Zed does not fit well with the two key things that occupy Mrs Rgf and I on a weekend - going walking (with a labrador) and having our grandson to stay. Consequently, the car sits there unused, so it has become a bit of an expensive indulgence which is becoming harder to justify in the current financial climate.
I also need to upgrade the day car so again it comes down to needing some pennies.
Sob sob.

Thanks for all your good wishes.

What are people's views on test drives?
I can't say that I'm too happy at the prospect of any old Tom, Dick or Harriet chav fancying a joy ride.
At what point would you agree to lettinng someone take it out for a test and would you look for any proof of insurance first?

Always ask for proof of insurance. I would only let someone test drive a car if i was selling if,
1. i was with them.
2. The car they came in was theres and worht the same or more and that they left the keys
But thats me

When I bought mine I made sure I had insurance and that I had docs with me so i could prove I was covered.

I have always wondered if you can have full comp. insurance for a car you don't own. :shrug

If someone turns up to test drive your car he could well have full comp. insurance, but if he drives your car he would only be covered for 3rd party. Which means of course that if he pranks your car you are left to foot the repair bill.

Have I got that right?

Thats interesting, if you don't mind me asking how much would that have cost. If you were going to view 3 cars would you need 3 different policies.
