Polished aluminium bonnet interior pull handles

Just came across these on fleabay and thought they would be interesting. I presume it will fit a Z3, I remember some people getting something similar from Doug Wheelan who made a limited run so these could be a good alternative. He also does rear shock mount reinforcement plates if you click on his other items.

Just had a conversation with the seller and I am going to get hold of one and see if it fits so will keep everyone posted on this.

I would think it should fit as I can't imagine BMW designing different fitting bonnet realease handles. The one on my 2010 1 Series looks exactly the same as on the Zed.

My thoughts exactly Tim, anyway there is one winging its way over to me so will post up when I get it. He has also suggested if it does not fit he could machine another up that would fit if I let him borrow mine for a couple of days.

Dougw on here was doing some earlier in the year, although not polished. You could get them either black or mat aluminium which does look good as i have one fitted to our zed.

To be honest I wasn't too impressed there are no spline machined into the rear like the DW one hence it doesn't quite sit right on the actuator and wobbles a little. all the force when you pull the lever is placed upon where the cable on the actuator wheel locates and I feel over time this will be a weak point and snap the actuator wheel.

I have conversed with the seller but he is reluctant to change his design despite me saying there could be a good market on here if it is corrected but heyho his loss. So I am afraid this has turned out to be a big dissapointment and would recommend going down the DW route when he next has a run going.

It's a shame he isn't taking any advice in improving the system...

Yes my sentiments as well but I have not heard from him for a while so not sure whether he is doing anything or not.

Why not just PM him. I would presume if you wanted to polish it up you could, but to be honest looks good in mat silver.
