M Roadster Sale Update ###Sold###

Post by Dolfan »

Hi,
I'm looking at selling my ///M Roadster in the early spring, however, I may consider taken her out of hibernation early if a serious buyer comes forward and weather permitting. It is currently sorn.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole roadster experience and my plan now is to purchase another Vette.

I purchased my car in June 2009 after travelling the length of the country in my search, finally settling for this one in Scotland that was for sale by a fellow forum member and BMW enthusiast, Kevin ( k10rgr)

It's a 98 first registered 4 November 1998 with 69600miles now showing, it comes with FSH and I have a folder full of receipts, last service April of this year, inspection II carried out in April 2010, four green lights showing. It has 7 months mot (I have all old mot's) hpi clear. No boot floor issues!

It's been well cared for by it's previous owners and lovingly cared for by myself, It is stored in a carpeted garage and only comes out on dry sunny days.

As I intended to keep my M for the long term I invested a vast amount of time and money as you will see below, and would describe the condition of my car now as outstanding!

The following work has been carried out

Engine,
New Vanos unit (still under warranty)
Evolve map
Simota
Schrick 284 Cams fitted approx 100 miles ago
Prior to the Cam install it produced a healthy 320bhp so will now be making more power.
Runs and drives Great!

Suspension,
Bilstein B8's Front and rear
New top mounts Front and rear
Intrax springs
H&R Arb's
New drop links
Dinan srut brace
Powerflex bushes ( not yet fitted but will include if car sells at asking price)
Handles great, and a big improvement over the standard M setup

Exhaust
Supersprint de-cat (cats included)
Supersprint tail pipes (ceramic coated)
Sounds Awesome!

Brakes,
Refurbished calipers finished in black
New discs allround
Red stuff pads
Less than 200miles wear

Wheels
Refurbished and Unmarked
New carbon centre caps
Black wheel nut covers
12mm TPI wheels spacers F/R

Tyres
Continental sport contact 3 on all corners
Lots of tread remaining.

Exterior.
New hood
No rust dents dings on bodywork or stone chips on bumper or bonnet
New paint on bumper and bonnet
Acs front flippers
Black Grills
Satin Black gills
Tinted rear lights(originals included)
Stubby ariel
Black and white carbon badges f/r
Aero wiper blades
I only use Swissvax polishes and wax

Interior,
Complete re trim including seats door cards and centre console
Steering wheel re trim in Alcantara
Storm gear lever
Storm hand brake lever
M-tec pedals
Tinted Just roadster wind deflector
Custom mats.

I will also include in the sale
Indoor cover
Window blanket
tonneau cover
Wind deflector

There are lots of other small bits I've done but not listed

There are a couple of minor things that I've not got round to fixing yet, the roof pump has not worked from when I purchased the car, to be honest it's never been that much of a problem as it is quick and easy to operate manually and I always get out to fit the tonneau and window blanket. and the cigerette lighter is not working, that's it!

As you can see I have spent many £1000's on getting her to the condition she is in now and would prefer her to go to a fellow enthusiast.

I am asking £7750

If you require anymore info please drop me a pm and I will foward my contact number.

Below are some pic's, as you will notice some of them are older, however, I assure you she is now in even better condition than when they were taken.

Thanks

Kind regards Yan.

This is a beautiful and stunning car for a great price, you should have no trouble selling the car.

A unique and very individual looking car with all the handling mods already done. A credit to you.

You've done all that work, why on earth would you want to sell it????

:puzzle:

Surely the lure of Americana can't be that strong?

Hi Alfie,

Thank you for your compliment

My previous car was the C5 ZO6 which I sadly had to sell, what became the deciding factor was a recent trip to the States and was lucky enough to get back behind the wheel of a Z06....That was all the allure I needed.

Don't get me wrong the Roadster is a great car, never let me down, and has always put a smile on my face when out driving, but the Z06 is on another level.

I would love to keep both, however, this is not feasible

Hi Yan,
Good luck with the sale.
My M Coupe has sold as well - away next Fri.
To vouch for the car / owner.
I am the previous owner, pure BM enthusiast - car finished in 2nd place at the annual BMOC show and shine 2009 (Scottish region)
Yan is also a true enthusiast who has lavished care & attention into the car not to mention quite a wad of cash.
Personally I think he is giving the car away at that price.
Full service history, plus the bootfloor has been repaired / upgraded by Park Lane BMW.

Hi Yan,
Secondment to a new role which involves a lot of travel, could not justify racking the miles up in the coupe.
Probably get a 330cd sport......with a remap.

This company http://www.pgtrimmers.com/ fitted the new roof along with the re-trim

Very good quality, however, not sure if oem. :)

Hello,

I'm thinking of having a new hood and retrim next year,

Could I trouble you for the rough cost of this?

Many thanks

Wow, what a great car. I only wish I'd seen it before buying a std Z3M two days ago (joined the site afterwards for tuning tips). I'm now tempted to sell mine to buy yours. :D
Don't suppose you'd be up for a deal? My car + cash your way?

Good luck with the sale

No harm in asking - in my experience a std car will usually sell easier than a modified one. I can put my car up for sale and then buy this one, or buy it anyway and sell the std one later. Anything is possible.

Hi Mark,

Not sure of the exact cost as I was quoted a price for the complete re trim including roof,

Give Paul a call at P&G.

Blue is the best colour for these!
I have a couple of little q's:
Does the evolve remap work with the cam change? Or does it need re,remapping?
What's gonna be the cost to get the auto hood working again?
Does it have cruise control? Makes me feel old when I ask that!
I think I have another question but I'm so old I'm senile, so inhave forgotten it already! :head:

Hi,

The car runs great and requires no further Mapping.

A used roof pump can be purchased and are not expensive, not sure how easy DIY fitment would be.

Cruise control, Yes, my right foot.... :)

Are you sure the hood problem is not just the common microswitch fault which is an easy fix.

What an excellent example, a credit to you !

May I ask, from the picture, your steering wheel looks thicker thtn the standard example on my //M. Did you specifically ask the trimmers to do that for you ? Its the only thing that really niggles me with mine.

Regards
Pete.

Hi Pete,

It's a little thicker than standard and the addition of the Alcantara gives it a great feel when driving.

The company use to trade on Ebay although I can't recall the name, a few of us here and on the Coupe forum used them.

I'm guessing the roof pump will turn a lot of people off, would it not be better to get it sorted and then your are pretty much advertising a car that is drive away happiness! 8-)

I believe this minor problem would not put off any serious buyers.

I also believe they would be very happy considering what they would be getting for the price I'm asking.
