Strong Strut "Butt Strut"
Strong Strut "Butt Strut"
For Sale
Strong Strut "Butt Strut" - high quality USA rear chassis underside brace, attaches to the rear subframe mounting bolts to reduce chassis flex. Very stong aluminium alloy, supplied with original fixing hardware.
More info here: http://www.strong-strut.com/Butt-Strut.htm
The item is in good overall condition. There are a number of small marks on the bottom surface where the strut has previously "touched down" on tarmac (car was very lowered on coilovers). Nothing serious as the photos show.
These currently retail for £365, asking £165 for this item.
Cheers, Will
PS; item located in Chelmsford - item can be collected or sent via courier.

Hi Southernboy,
I am prepared to ship to South Africa and I have both the Butt Strutt and Body Braces....if you send me a message on how much you want for them I am sure we can get them packed up and shipped away. I no longer have use for them.
Here is my post from a few months back advertising them for sale:

Re: Strong Strut "Butt Strut"
Can;t get my head round why these things are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo expensive?
The body brace in the link looks like a bit of welded angle iron........................good work if you can get it!

Butt Strutt now sold.....thanks Barry...hope it arrives safely.
These are not really that expensive when you consider how effective the body brace is in not reducing, but totally eliminating body role. If you've never tried one, you'll never know. When used with the butt strut, there is no other modification that can transform a convertible Z3 into a unified driving experience better than a body brace.
Money well spent and there are many more less affective, more expensive mods out there

HI Shantybeater,
Its Sunday here so let me check out shipping costs on Monday to the UK. Because of its length it will be sent international courier....if you want an exact quote perhaps PM me your postal code? As for price, I am not too fussed....I see its GBP467 at the following supplier:
http://www.ca-at.co.uk/single_prod.php?prod_id=1322
I'd let it go for say GBP220.

Re: Strong Strut "Butt Strut"
Hi Soma they are currently listed for sale direct from Strong Strut (new) for $425 e.g. £268~ so £220 would be too much second hand imo
http://www.strong-strut.com/body-brace.htm
Also thinking about it shipping costs would probably make it uneconomical for us both?

Well then...let us find a happy meeting point in between. I'll check with shipping charges...are you in a hurry because air freight from Australia (or the USA for that matter) might be expensive. Sea freight might be the best option. I check it out and let you know.

HI Santybeater,
One cubic meter minium sea freight with Both TNT Shipping and Pack n Send quote $375 door to port (South Hampton, London)!!!! Its $390 door to door by air freight!!
If indeed you are not in a rush, shall we petition any of our willing forum members who may be flying to Australia over the coming weeks/months. Perhaps they will be flying with a surfboard and can tuck the braces in their over-sized luggage for a nominal fee? Worth a shot...

Yes...a bit confusing so just to clarify....both Butt Strutts mentioned in this thread are sold. My body brace is still for sale. Shipping costs are very expensive so alternatives are being explored. Searching for anyone traveling from Australia to the UK in the next couple of months who is willing to help out a fellow forum member by taking on some excess baggage. Please send me a PM and we can negotiate arrangements.
cheers< Soma
