The fitment is actually quite simple. There are directions to fit the standard roll hoops on the Z3 Knowledge base here. But simply, you need to remove the inner storage box from the rear, and remove the little side windows on the side pillars. The side pillar "windows" allow access to two torx bolts which must be undone. The lock against the roll bar shaft. Then if you remove the storage box inner, you will have access to a single torx bolt which locks against the other "inner shaft"
The roll hoop should simply lift out. Do the same both sies.

There is actually a cut-out access panel in the liner on roll-hoop cars designed to give access to the Torx bolt for the inboard leg, so it is not necessary to remove the liner. In fact, on mine I think the liner won't remove with hoops in place.

This is the roll-hoop version of the liner:

The inner legs of the roll-hoops pass through the round holes either side of the storage area - this means you can't remove the liner with the roll-hoops fitted to the car. You can't see the cut-outs in the pic as they are in the sides of the storage well, but you can just see the triangular pieces in the bags which go to fill the holes.

Oh god, you're not STILL viewing the site through the IP address are you? The domain name should be working fine for everybody now!

My picture hosting only allows pictures to be linked to from a list of known sites to prevent hotlinking - zroadster.net is on the allowed list, the IP address isn't.

About 400GBP for the hoops and cubby / trim, that was two years ago on ebay.de

I should've bought them, but at the time I couldn't justify the expense as was looking to finish off my wheel build!

Just a small additional point...

In my and others' experience, the ACS polished steel hoops are a much tighter fit in the mounts than the BMW originals.

Be prepared to have to hammer the ACS hoops in with some effort, and if you ever need to remove them, set aside a half day of very awkward upward hammering! (Not intended as a euphemism... )

Of course, the results are well worth the effort since the ACS hoops are far better looking than any other brand, including Alumex.

Cheers.

I think there German ones have been relisted for c1500 euro.

I guess he had no offers aboce that and he will keep advertising / dropping the price until they go.

Personally I think they are worth £500 to £750 they really are that rare and desirable and are one of those few mods you know you can buy and sell them for the same / more in years to come so not really costing you anything :D
