Help....filler flap rubber stop!!

Post by Devon Z »

Been cleaning my car today and whilst drying out filler cap area I've lost the little rubber stop off the filler flap, is anybody breaking a facelift zed?

I'll have a look on my drive tommorow but I don't hold out much hope.

Just put the part number in on the Cooper BMW parts website and they tell me it's £6.06!! Ouch!
I'll give my local dealer a ring not that they are very helpful when it comes to parts! "You mean you don't want to buy a car sir!! O?"

Brought one from the dealers about a month ago, certainly increased in price since the last one I had was about a quid. Even the parts guy couldn't believe the price of it :-(

Made my own out of silicone rubber adhesive - not because I couldn't afford a quid - had a tube of it and it just wasn't worth a trip to the dealers.

Try your local hardware shop...they use very similar little rubber bumpers on cupboard doors etc..they're generally peel and stick type things, but you may also find something cheaper than £6.00

Good idea I'll remember that next time, just been out in the daylight and found it on the drive :)

That was lucky when the little blighter costs over 6 quid.

I lost a little round-headed, allen head bolt when fitting some new seat bushes last year. I was working on the lawn and spent around 2 hours crawling up and down the area feeling every blade of grass – never found it and the neighbour thought I’d completely lost the plot.
