I'm not turning my back on the world of Zeds.. I have a feeling a Z3M coupe lies somewhere in my future. depending on where life takes me. Alternatively, If mine doesn't sell, It'll be going into storage for a while.

You have a lovely car... Iwas thinking about sell my car in France and buy a 6 cylinders... your car would fit perfectly but I can't buy it yet!

Don't sell it for silly money, I might be able to buy it in a few month time!

its already advertised for silly money! it'll be advertised until the insurance runs out in a few weeks, then if there hasn't been any solid interest it's going into storage for a while.

I just got back from taking a guy for a test drive. I hadn't driven the zed for a couple of weeks, and the sun was out so I actually got the roof down for a change. she drives like a dream.... If I don't get a sale I will happily turn her into an occasional toy.....Refurb the wheels, lower the suspension, debadged M gills.... Who knows.. maybe a Hamann hardtop one day....

Ive decided on a deadline of 11 july, thats when current insurance runs out. If not sold by then i'll be tucking her away on my parents drive in the sticks, and save the money i would have sent on insurance and tax etc. Then i'll be able to spend that on her next summer.

as far as I am aware , even if the car is sorn you still have to have it insured . -- nice car eastsix !!

http://www.sorninsurance.co.uk/the-rules.html

read this link above ,

"Registered keepers of vehicles suspected of having no insurance or SORN will receive an official reminder - an 'Insurance Advisory Letter'."

"Vehicles exempted from CIE - * Vehicle with a valid SORN "

still confused !!!!!!! :?

That's not correct.

You can still have an uninsured SORNED car, but not an uninsured 'TAXED' car.
If you remove the insurance you must immediately return any tax disc and declare SORN regardless of how much tax is on it.
Happened when I bought another car and swapped the insurance over to the new one before selling the old car.
I either had to declare the old car SORN and return the tax disc, or insure it separately. I chose to SORN it and take it off the public highway.

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Lol i didnt take it like that :)

But if you read the link it states.

Registered keepers of vehicles suspected of having no insurance or SORN will receive an official reminder - an 'Insurance Advisory Letter'."

What you stated makes sense but what about that statement ?

Sorry Eastsix didnt mean to side track your post !

Yes Sorry Eastsix but at least you get a bump to the top of the home page with our irrelevant comments.

Registered keepers of vehicles suspected of having neither insurance or SORN will receive an official reminder - an 'Insurance Advisory Letter'."

I think that is how it should have been worded.

Spot on mate, Im glad I dont have to think about it anymore, but watching it drive away will be hard.
Its going to a couple who had one before and regretted selling it. I have no doubt it will be well loved.
I've pointed him in the direction of the forum too, hopefully it will stay as a forum car.

I'll be hanging around too. When circumstances change (as they inevitably will) there is almost certainly a Z of some description in my future.
im hoping Deano gets bored of his Hamann hardtop Z3M at the same time as I'm looking again.... 8-)

Cheers Brian. I can happily say I've looked after her well for 2 and a half years, and I reckon the new owners will do so too. it would have been a shame if she'd ended up tucked away and unused for the next year or so.
