For Sale - LHD 2.8 Hellrot Red Z3 Coupe, lots of mods
Well, the time has finally come to sell up, after 6 years of happy motoring in my little coupe.
The arrival of my first child means I need something with more seats or less airbags, depending on which way you look at it.
First of all, asking price is £5250, being left hand drive it commands a premium on the continent.
Currently on just over 176,500 miles, taxed until end of April 2014 (£225 last year)
1 years MOT
Those of you who have been on here for a while will recognise the car from the various mods I have carried out over the years, a decent journal can be found here... http://zroadster.org/forum/threads/spur ... gress.370/
But even this isn't everything!
I'm sure I'll miss something out but here goes
Earls clutch hose fitted
Angel eye with LED side lights
Smoked side lights and indicator lights
red stuff brake pads all round
new shorter leather gear knob
Z3M side grills with ///M badge removed and filled
Z3M Wheels powder coated in white with new rear tyres Nexen) decent tread left on fronts (Dunlop)
Eibach lowering springs
///M door sills
Front strut brace
The car already had powerflex or similar uprated bushes when I bought it,
also a Sebring exhaust (lovely gargling noises when decelerating ( I like it anyway))
Mid-silencer deleted and replaced with stainless steel standard bend
De-cat
Cat for MOT can be included if car sells for near the asking price (was on recently for the MOT)
Tinted windows
Nokia handsfree phone kit (doesn't connect to my iPhone, but did work with all my other phones)
There's bound to be more but that at least is a start!
Car is a German bought 1998 (S reg) Left Hand Drive 2.8 straight 6 24v Z3 Coupe with nearly 176,500miles on the clock, electric leather heated seats (black), front and side airbags, ABS, Traction Control, Air Conditioning, Sunroof, finished in Hellrot (bright red) paint.
I think that is it. In fair condition, for a car of 15 years of age and having covered that sort of mileage she has some stone chips (although the front end was re-sprayed about a year ago after a disagreement with a deer- not enough to put the car on the insurance category list - car is HPI clear)
There are parking dings in both doors (some worse than others), in all honesty they could both do with a blow over, drivers door is showing signs of lacquer fade (common with red cars) and the top of the rear quarters also have some lacquer peel. Sills could also do with a spray and there are a few rust bubbles coming up on the front wings and here and there. Never been enough to warrant me getting them done, if I started getting each bit done I think I'd have the whole car re-sprayed by now.
Interior is very tidy and clean, other than the dash, where the leather around the passenger's airbag has crack and rolled up slightly.
All in all it really is a stunning car that always gets commented on by people when I'm out and about, I really don't want to sell but will for the right price.
Still pulls well in all gears, drives surprisingly smoothly for an aging performance car.
Anyone who has driven a BMW Z3 will know that compared to new cars they do feel slightly agricultural but that's part of the appeal to me.
I've been very honest in my ad, and in my journal so please do get in contact if you realise this car is not mint, it is not going to win any concourse competitions but does drive well and look great.
A rare car, much loved
£5250

Now £5450 in pistonheads, really need more seats!
Will consider a swap (cash either way, realistically your way!) for a sensible size (not an M5!) quick diesel, up to about 5 years old, something like a golf GT TDI 170, Audi a3 2.0 or a Leon FR TDI.

Looks a fantastic bargain for some one! If i had the cash I'd have it. Got an engine to drop into it now too so it'd be an M Coupe!

Put it up across Germany also maybe..? These are still very expensive here.. although the mileage might put people off.
Let me know and I can also put up a link

You wouldn't regret it!
Stunning cars, with a real 'head turning' ability
If you are dragging dogs around in it, I'd go for a bargain, despite the high mileage and maybe even the steering wheel on the wrong side!
Seriously..... get one, I'm so glad to have owned a Z3 Coupe and never regretted a minute of it.

Relisted on eBay, thanks to a useless ****-wit.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LHD-2-8-BMW-Z ... 25886546eb
independent_motors - eBay user name - no contact after I accepted his offer, what a time waster and he clearly buys cars on eBay and then relists them as if he is a dealer himself, his feedback shows it all, he is stupid enough to buy and sell the same cars from the same account!

Back on eBay, put at £5995 to try and scare off a few of the time wasters!

GLWTS Andy,
It's about time someone genuine tried to buy your car!
What happened with the motor museum guy?

Gave the 'red paint pinking' a go over today after I saw I perfect product in Halfords on the 3for2 offer.
I must say I'm stunned by the results.
A 4 stage process.
1 - wash and dry using Zymol shampoo
2 - Meguiars Ulitmate Compound
3 - Zymol polish
4 - Dodo Juice wax
I tell you what it looks 100 times better. - and my hands smell nice!

Re: For Sale - LHD 2.8 Hellrot Red Z3 Coupe, lots of mods
I know a few members on here have been round recently to pick up Z3 parts.
Maybe they will be along to comment on my little Z3 Coupe.
A very honest car, accurately described.
Before I take a crap offer on ebay....
I'll consider any sensible offers?
Cheers
Andy
ps... only for sale due to a recent (not actually that recent!) addition to the family (my boy is nearly 11 months now!)
Can put 12 months MOT on for a buyer.
Viewings highly recommended

Re: For Sale - LHD 2.8 Hellrot Red Z3 Coupe, lots of mods
I've seen Andy's coupe in the flesh (or metal), and it truly is a beauty of a car - I'd go as far as to say it is my favorite Z on the forum. I find it extremely sad that no one on here wants to keep it in the family.
Many of you guys on here have dealt with Andy, so you will know that he always keeps true to his word, and that his description of this coupe is as honest as it can be!
It would be such a shame to see this car go for a sub-par eBay offer.
GLWTS Andy, I'm sorry I can't snap it up myself!

Re: For Sale - LHD 2.8 Hellrot Red Z3 Coupe, lots of mods
I'd love it, but left hand drive puts me right off (I guess its the same as many other people). I do have an itching to buy it and 'reshell' my 2.8 into it and convert it to right hand drive, but I have too many projects on and not enough time or storage space left.
I thought about giving you a cheecky offer, but I'd guess you've rejected plenty better already!
Good luck with the sale.

Andy, I've never known a car be for sale for sooooooo long! I know it's up on miles but surely it's cheap enough at what your asking. I don't get it to be honest, it should have sold months ago.

Amazingly I just re-listed on Ebay again.
Just been serviced (oil and air)
New tyres all round.
Details here
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161537308463? ... 1555.l2649
Annoyingly the bonnet was hit recently, needs a small (£300) repair, so price lowered.
Sensible offers considered.
Car still looks and drives great.
Any questions via PM please
