If they are for a pre-facelift car, they regularly come up on Ebay at a price, see example below.

If however, you want them for a facelifted Z3, then they are not only rarer but much more expensive (unless you strike lucky)

I think you're after pre facelift, but if anyone wants a set of (rare) clear facelift lights there is a set here on eBay. Good price as well.

These are probably the cheapest for a pre-facelift. A couple of forum users have these ones fitted.

I recently bought a new set of eBay for my pre-facelift 96-99. £57.50+£1.99 P and P from Germany. Search eBay for seller:carparts_uk. He has some in stock. They fit well and look fine. Good value for money.

Cheers
Dave

Thanks for all the suggestions, I went for the German suppliers in the end. Who also surprised me with a little bag of German Harribo Golden Bears :D

I thought the bears might be an apology for sending mine with a crappy rubber seal on it. My nearside rear rubber surround doesn't even come close to the rear wing! Offside is fine and seals up nicely.

Can't remember which side off hand but one of mine was a snugger fit than the other but got them to seal after a bit of messing. Sorry to hear yours arn't right. I recommended this seller more than once on the forum, I won't again if peoples lenses arn't right. What a shame, thought wed found a bit of a bargain but maybe not. :(

Cheers

Nothing a bit of self adhesive rubber strip from screwfix won't fix :)

I recall with my '97 2.8 I had a similar experience with the one tail light...it just didn't quite fit as well as I would expect, since the other was a good fit...
I ended up using some butyl in a strip, which I sealed up the small discrepancy... As I recall, the issue was at the bottom edge, and a little up the outside curve. Worked perfectly without any hassle with leaking water etc. I'm glad to know it wasn't a car panel issue, and that the fit - or lack of it - is in the manufacture of these aftermarket units...

Hi
If anyone is interested in a pair of original BMW clear/red lights which have no fitment problems, please see my listing.

I have reduced the price of my original ones to £100 including P+P.

I met with a friend yesterday and his sister used to have a Z with the same lights as the members above have purchased. The light was leaking, soaked the boot carpet and the boot floor started to rust where the all important spot welds are!She should have sorted before it got to that point but sometimes cheapest turns out to be expensive I guess.

Mine are now SOLD
