Brilliant example of a very low mileage 2.8 which appears to be 100% OEM ! that's one to put away for 20 years..... :wink:

I agree with Barry, if it's as original as it looks and with that mileage it wants forgetting about and in 20 years it'll be worth considerably more than it is now. For what he'd get for it now if he has a garage, SORN it and forget about it if "the wife" wants rid. :)

It certainly is an individual colour. One of the very few built in that shade. Certain is different is different to my silver z which appears to be the most common colour.

I've never seen this colour zed before this thread. Then blow me down we we walking up by Ilam today in the Peak District and parked up at Bloore Pastures was the twin of this one. Had a chat with the owner to see if it was for sale as I thought "what's the chance of two this unusual colour". It wasn't though but looked just as good as this one.

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Hmmmm....... I've seen this colour car on eBay before and I think the earlier poster has a fair point. Not my choice but some people say silver is an unpopular colour BUT I say it's each to their own because if someone didn't want other colours there might not have been an Oxford Green one for me !! :D

I think your nearer the mark than your brother, the colour will knock it back a little over black/silver etc but I think its worth £3500 all day if condition is as stated and the mileage being as low as it is. :)

Cheers

Colour = Palmetto?
I think the colour is Ok and could grow on you. Car colour fashion comes and goes - a few years ago white was completely passé now everything seems to be white. I'd like to see it with a dark green soft top. :)

I agree, I like the colour but bold colours always restrain value. The german manufacturers bought white back in 2008 and it's still having a strong run today. It was huge in the early 90's but died its death in the mid to late 90's almost halving the values of white cars against like for like cars in "better colours"
I like bold colours but there like marmite......!
I hope your brother agrees to letting you have it, I for one would like to see the car in the flesh! :)

Cheers

There are at least three in the country then - I spotted another quite some time back: http://www.zroadster.net/forum/viewtopi ... 27&t=12795

That one was on a T-plate.

Robert, looking at the pic you posted the boot lid and tops of the rear wings are slightly different to yours, yours is the same as mine. I'm obviously aware of the facelift but the lights look different to what I know. Excuse me for being thick but I thought you got post and pre facelift and that was the only changes BMW made to the Zed?? :?:

Cheers

Easy explanation for that - both cars are pre-facelift, but mine is a narrowbody 1.9 and the spearmint one is a widebody 2.8 - the light clusters are identical, but the rear wing panels are different. :wink:
