Which side is the volume button? Also do you want a trade with any parts?

Is it the 7950 (yellow display) or the 7952 (red display)?

That design of Becker was the best thing to happen to the console of a Z3.... it isn't bling, it isn't retro (maybe just a tad)... It is an exceptional unit in terms of it's technology and it is extremely well made.... nothing about it suggests "plastic" but it is plastic nonetheless, but so well made and finished that plastic doen't come to mind.. The classiest automotive headunit currently on the market. They are specified as OEM in Merc, Porsche, Ferrari amongst the "big" brands. Buying new is like buying a new car, the options one has to choose which facilities you want included is broad enough to cater for any reqirements.
No, I don't own a franchise.... :D

True but I have seen the one with the red display being listed as a 7950 on eBay a couple of times hence the question. Also seemed odd putting a yellow display in a car with orange/red OEM displays.

Hi all, it's definitely a 7950 and I didn't use it much but pretty sure it's amber!

Sorry don't think I'm in need of any parts currently. Intend buying wheels in the near future but that's about it!

Memory fails me as to which side the volume knob is. Think it was the right but like I said only have driven the car a handful of times before removing it so didn't get that familiar with it. Tested that all works and that was about it really.

Vol knob is left side.... as per the "norm" on headunits...... and the colour of the led display is also optional...red or amber.

Thanks for that. Apologies for the wrong info regarding the volume earlier. Not the most observant at the best of times! :)

Ermmm. ... just asked my wife as she drove the car more than I did with the stereo in it. She can't remember either :D

Did the sensible thing and read the manual. Volume is on the left!

Does it have 3 line outputs (subwoofer, fronts and rears)?

Once again had to check the manual but yes it has separate controls for front rears and subwoofer. Thanks for the interest. :)

Just checked the manual. Can you please describe this things:
1) Sound quality
2) Ease of use
3) iPhone connection (not bluetooth but with wire to bypass iPhone DSP) and how easy it is to operate the songs (shuffle, etc.). Does it charge the iPhone when connected?
4) I have normal audio connectors (RCA), will I need something more to connect to the unit?

I was thinking about Pioneer DEX-P99RS which is Pioneers top of the line unit, but it costs twice as much.

Hi
Sound quality is excellent
Obviously a lot of functions on it but it seems fairly straight forward to use. My brother drove the car home for me (500 miles) and programmed the sat nav without the manual so can't be too bad really.
Don't know anything about the Ipod connection as im an android guy! Sorry!
Not really into car audio -I pulled out the lead it was connected with in my car and put a picture of it on the eBay link. No idea if this plugs straight in to the original car wiring, but I assume it does with this lead (I'll leave that for more knowledgeable persons to work out from the pic)

Thanks for info. iPhone integration is essential for me, and I don't care about navigation as I am using Waze app on iPhone for navigation and traffic info. Looks like Becker unit has adapter for standard BMW audio connector which I am not using as all standard audio was upgraded at some point. Looks like Becker has the best design to blend with interior of the car, but I will try to source pioneer dex-p99rs, as I know that the sound quality and iPhone integration is very good.
