Just replaced mine, found these from USA, arrived within a week, slightly cheaper than what I could find on ebay.

Did you have to remove the hood motor to fit?

I've got a new grommet but lifted the boot, peeled back the carpet and promptly decided it can wait for another day! :dunce:

For those that have done this, did you replace the inner part of the grommet as well or just the external part?

Just external, it had gone brittle, internal was ok.

I did both just to make sure. Inner grommet was cheap so not wanting to have to do it twice, replaced it.

The Internal Grommet Was Totally Fine, Just The Top One Was Looking Flakey. My Eye Was Always Drawn To It!I Just Got It Off BMW, It Was Not Expensive.

Only outer, inner was fine.

Part no: B65.21.8.411.562 only £5.48 + VAT (30.04.2014) from Knights BMW

Very easy job, looks hard at first but isn't

Cheers everyone - rang BMW today and ordered outer grommets for both Zs, also managed to get some hardtop fitting kit trims and a plastic thing which I noticed was missing off the corner of my silver hardtop. It is amazing the stuff that BMW still carry in stock (even if it is from Germany).

The only thing they didn't have anymore was the little covers that go over the hardtop spikes when it is in storage - looks like I will have to search harder for them.
