Wanted: Worn/noisy but working DISA Valve

Post by mrscalex »

Part number 11611438404

I am getting a code 175 DISA Control Circuit Electrical. I suspect the electronics are gone in mine which is a shame as it is otherwise quiet.

Before paying £234 for a new one I'd like to try and get hold of a discarded one and see if it gets rid of the error. Happy to pay a tenner to cover postage and a couple of pints :)

This part is commonly replaced as it is noisy rather than not working. That said perhaps people have stopped routinely replacing them as the price seems to have gone up from £150 to £234 in the not too distant past!

Plus Willy, Kodak & Maycee - All 2.2 Sport projects. Yes, 6 is a lot of Z3s :)

I don't get the noise on mine so I can't describe it first hand. But as I understand it you hear a distinct rattle at idle.

I believe the DISA is commonly replaced because a) people don't like the noise b) they can disintegrate and enter the engine.

I just want one to put on the car for 2 minutes to see if it gets rid of the error code.

I'll be getting a new DISA tomorrow. So you can have my old one if you want. Judging by the price , it's for an M43/44?

Yes, it's for an M44. Please keep me in touch when the old one is available.

Are you getting your new one for a better price than £234?

Is that for the same part number. There's no stock when I look it up?

Yes. You have to use the Part Finder request to get a price, as it´s not listed as a stock item.

Are they usually slow to reply to Part Finder requests? I sent something in about a week or more ago to get a price.

Is this any any help?

For 2.2 but other sizes are available I believe.

That particular one is not the same type and I don't think anyone does a repair kit for my one. Also I think it's the electronics that are gone not the mechanical part.

Thanks anyway.
