Discussions are being held.

Thread merged with the original.

Rob and I have spoken about this, no doubt he will give an update when he has some news.

I appreciate the time scale but both Rob and I are giving this our attention when we can

What are we actually looking for? Is it "zroadster.net" or is it the Z(3) drawing over the top of "zroadster.net"

Personally I presume the later?

And I also presume waterproof stickers (ie stick outside) and/or window stickers (ie stick inside)

I can only assume that after such a long time of waiting, a run of the zroadster.net stickers are not going to happen. A shame :puzzle:

The previous one I had was the outline of the logo, with zroadster.net underneath and it went on the inside of the window. But you could get them made for inside or out, I think it would just be that someone who holds the logo needs to send it to the relevant company for them to produce. Once the company have the logo then the options of where it sticks and colours/sizes could probably be customised.

We had a few offers from members but they fizzled out :?

The sticker is the Forum Logo as seen at the top of the page, if we have a member that can supply these at sensible cost them we can set something up.

Obviously we aren't going to order lots of stickers as we (Admin) have to pay for them and as you know, the Forum doesn't charge a fee for membership therefore there are no Forum funds.

We would need to know how many would be required to place an initial order.

I can produce these stickers and clothing, mugs etc., It's part of my full time business. In fact I designed the .org logo but supplied no goods. Story for another day.......or is the following deja vu? LOL :rtm:

Early last year I was corresponding by email with Robert who was in turn liaising with the other .net forum owners. For two reasons, one that we were both very, very busy and two it seemed that decision by committee can slowdown progress so we were still 'talking' in June. If i'm perfectly honest, and this is as much to do with how I prefer to work as opposed to most other people (ask my wife or brother :head: ) discussions became focused on minute amendments to text size and a desire for a slowly, slowly approach and i'd have struggled with that so talks just fizzled out. I'd have to refer to emails to see exactly why?

Some may recall my being rather vocal about the 6.50 price tag for a once available sticker which I thought expensive in light of the aim to promote the forum and give a small return for running costs. Selling the cheapest T-shirt in the catalogue for 15 quid + P&P as others do is also not in my humble opinion, in the spirit of what forum support is all about. Should selling price be my concern? In most situations probably not but if .net owners would be happy for me to get something moving lets talk again.

In the meantime who'd buy a 'Sex Pistols' style 'Never Mind the Bxxxxcks it's Dakar Yellow' Mug personalised with your own name? :D

Why don't you run a poll. Ask the members who would order one and how much would they pay.

You then have your potential and target price.

Seems you are all dancing round the airbag here.

Get it done.

Another way to go would be to provide high resolution artwork on this site for people to source whatever stickers they wanted. There are lots of people on Ebay offering sticker of various types for not much money. However I can fully understand if the originator of the logo wanted to keep control of their work and I can also understand that nobody wants to shell out for stickers that they may not be able to sell and recoup their outlay.

The going rate must be £50 per sticker at the moment they are that rare. I don't mind paying a fiver or even £6 with some proportion of it going towards the cost of running the forum. As said most other stickers similar in design cost £3-£4 with lots of companies on eBay prepared to make them, they just need the logo.

So it seems we have a target price of £5 to £6 pounds. Can gazza set up a voting poll to count the numbers? Then give the design and this info to whoever makes them and get some extra made for future sales. I assume if it's just the inside window variety these will be clear with white design?

Another way of looking at it might be that of 11,883 members 11,880 aren't jumping for joy at a £5-£6 price  :D

Several ways of doing these and yes as with any type of production it comes down to quantity :squeeze:

Just send an image to one of the many eBay shops and donate £3 to the forum. Same outcome - job done :D .

If you decide to use someone else's logo, you can read this to help you decide if you have a defence if accused of "logo theft"...

Thanks, Robert T has a file for the Logo, I'll ask for that to be sent to you. Static cling has been mentioned.

I think it will be just caps to start, I assume it will be just the zroadster.net script.

Do you have a minimum order ?

I've had a go at doing the stickers using a printable cling film, using the logo used on this site. The file size is too small for a decent image but with photoshop you can mess with it a bit too get it looking right. The trouble is, even though the printed image looks good, when it's on the glass, it doesnt really stand out unless its printed in white, and ordinary inkjet printers dont have white ink in them. They only produce white as having no colour printed.
Looking at the stickers from the outside of my car, the background usually is black seats or black dash so the sticker in different colours like dark blue doesnt work, but perhaps with a light interior it might work well.

Your theory is right but there are only two ways to do these.

Commercially printed Self Cling stickers + quantity = best price..

Individually cadcut vinyl which requires the logo to be adjusted as eg., the line for the front bumper disappears to infinity :head:

These people do what we want, just need a decent quality file of the forum logo to upload into their design page, have had ago with a poor quality copy of the logo on a round disc template with BMW Z Series in words above and UK Forum below. Can't put a picture up as their artwork page doesn't allow copying.

Price for 250 was £25.

Anyone got a full resolution of the logo to have a go?
