Z3M S54 Roadster (2001) For Sale

Time has come for me to sell it having owned it for 5 years...

I am asking for £19,995...

As most will know this is one of only 73 right hand drive versions of the Z3M Roadster so extremely rare (it is believed that not even all of the 73 were delivered to the UK so could be even less than 73!). It has the S54 engine used in the E46 M3 but with a 5 speed gearbox. These were only produced in 2001 and 2002. This is an early one - it was first registered in April 2001 and was only the second non demonstrator and non press car. Since buying it 5 years ago I have only seen a handful for sale on the open market. This is a very special, rare car.

The differences over the earlier S50 version apart from the engine(!) include traction control (very helpful on a car with this much power!), a lining on the inside of the fabric roof, a darker shade on the alloy wheels.

I have close to full history on it with a stack of receipts for services and work carried out. The service book appears to have a gap between 22k and 48k but since then there is frequent servicing. I have had it for 5 years from circa 88k miles and had it serviced every year doing circa 5k miles per year. It now has 107,922 miles on it. There are 6 previous registered owners before me.

It is currently on SORN and the MOT expired in February this year - I have been unable to use it since late last year due to having a serious accident on my bicycle! This is my primary reason for selling it as I am unable to get the enjoyment out of it that it deserves.
It is completely standard with the only modification being a braided clutch hose. I also have a matching hard top - albeit the colour of the hard top is marginally different due to only being on the car for relatively short periods.

It is in very good shape for a car in excess of 100k miles but does some have minor cosmetic things that could be rectified to bring it to "showroom" condition; paintwork scratches primarily (will share pics if needed!). The right hand bolster of the driver's seat has some wear and is split slightly - but has been temporarily repaired (again shown in a picture). The driver's seat electrical adjustment does not appear to be working right now. The rear rims could also benefit from a refurb - one is particularly scratched - the fronts are in pretty good shape. Tyres have plenty of life left in them.

As the car is currently on SORN and without an MOT, test driving it could prove troublesome. I am considering getting it MOTed - I anticipate no problems! Vehicle is located in Chesham, Buckinghamshire.

Happy to answer any questions at all.

Out of interest, was this first sold from Benham BMW in Wolverhampton? Sounds like it could have been my old man's car.

Now with MOT.

No issues at all...

I do want it gone so feel free to be cheeky.

... but not that cheeky! 😁

Good luck with the sale ;-)

ps the inner fabric roof liner was a facelift 04/99 change ie not exclusive to S54 models, late S50 models also have it and it can be retro fitted so some older cars have it.
