Front wheel arch top trim

Post by Southernboy »

Can anyone provide the part number for the plastic trim which fits at the top of the front wheel arches and is visible from above when the bonnet is open. I'm after the right front one if anyone can help please. If you click on the link below, you will see a pic of what I'm referring to ... :D

Hi Barry, I hope all is good down there in the sun. Real oem shows the wheel arch liner as one piece. Part number 51718397686

Hi Alec.
Sunshine is great thanks! I've found a really nice z3 which is in need of some TLC, so took it on as a restoration project.
The parts I need aren't attached in any way to the large "main" wheel arch trim. I have posted a link to a pic on Imgur (haven't figured how to post the pic here yet).. have a look on that link and tell me what you think
Cheers buddy

Hi Barry, I`ve had a look at the picture in the link. I`ll take a look at mine later and see what`s what. It`s easier to look at it in the flesh. The only other part showing on real oem is this one but it looks too small but those diagrams aren`t to scale and t`s not clear where it attaches to.

Hi Alec
I had a look at that part too, and as you say it's so small that it's impossible to say what it is. It may well be the part, but if you can have a look on your car, I'd appreciate it.
Cheers

Doesn't look the part does it?
Maybe I'll pop down to the BMW guys and they might have a better parts diagram on their systems.
Thanks Alec - appreciate your help good man. :cheers

You`re welcome. It might be worth a chat with mrscalex or spurs fan in a coupe, they both must have intimate knowledge on that area considering the amount of cars they`ve had in bits.

Its part of the wheel arch liner. Its one continuous piece with a thin bit that goes over the top (Ive just replaced mine as it was shredded at the front).

Thanks John... I have managed to find a clear pic of the part, and as you say - one piece.
