My new strut brace fitted

Post by spurs fan in a coupe »

Hello all,

before I start, come on you spurs at Wolves tonight!

OK,

Finally fitted my new front strut brace tonight, has a few issues. The jump start point was in the way and needed to be cut out of the turret top. A friend of mine machined it out but accidently scratched the paint. Thanks!

Only done 3 miles so far so no comments yet but here are some before and afters!

Strut brace

Post by Vulcan »

Hallo Poor Bear,

Ordered a brace a couple of days ago from Wiechers GmbH in Germany for my 2,8 Litre. polished Alu. 169 €, p&p to Sweden included. According to te german Z3 forum it´s top of the line products from that dealer. It comes with
a cut-out for the jump start connection, already made.
8-)

Snowy grethings from the Göteborg area

I'm considering one of these myself at that price and like the carbon, but was conserned about it looking a bit feeble compared to the wide flat braces we see. What's the build quality like and do you think they are strong enough for the M?

so far very happy with it, doesn't slide so much around round a bouts or when hitting drain covers etc. in the road. If the weather would improve a bit I'd tell you my footdown opinion!

Hi,

Does anyone have any more feedback on this strut brace. It does seem very cheap, but if it does the same job, I'm willing to give it a go! Personally, I think the carbon fibre look is quite nice.

I am also a bit concerned about having to make alterations to the car for it to fit.

Hi Simon,

recently fitted one to my Z3M and fits ok, the quality is good for the money and I would recommend one. I had to remove the nut for the jump lead connection, put the brace on then screwed the nut back on. You can see from the pictures how mine has fitted, didn't need to cut anything out however I suppose it depends on where the connections is positioned on your motor as shown in previous pictures in this thread. I hope this helps :shrug
