K&N AIR FILTER Cone type help wanted

hello all,

someone must be able to help on here, i'm in the middle of fitting my new K&N induction kit which i'm really excited about. Only thing is i can't seem to work out where the cold air pipe is supposed to go?? and does the old intake which went into the box just stay there?

any help would be greatly appreciated if anyones fit one before
