Installed SIMOTA Carbon Fiber Intake System today

Tyres, exhausts, suspension, strut braces, air filters, brake pads/rotors and anything else for 'dawn raiders'.

I had an K&N before:

.... and i could not make a good cold air solution, so the engine lost power, compared to stock.

After i installed the Simota i can fell a difference, and the sound & quality of the Simota is great.

But the real change comes after de-cat & remap.

You can get the Simota for the 2.2, although can you justify spending best part of £300 for minimal gains? The stock airbox really isnt that poor, specially with some modifcation you can get gains as good as the Simota for very little outlay.

Simota is better than stock, but minimal gains. Maybe 3 HP.
But add a cat-back, and get a re-map. Then you will gain up to 15 HP on a 2.2 (my guess).

Don't buy the K&N. It will get hot air, and you will lose power, compared to stock system.

Nice one, my old S50 dynoed at >330BHP with a Simota and remap.

I did not get it dynoed pre Simota but usually 300-310BHP is good from a stock S50 so I reckon the Simota /Remap combo added at least 10BHP :D (quality of remap does make a difference though  )
