2.8 exhaust on 1.9?

Post by kkkrisss »

Does anyone know if the 2.8 rear section of the exhaust will fit on Z3 1.9?
They look basically the same apart from the twin tail pipe?

Anyone knows the diameter of the 2.8 pipe?

KKriss I presume from lack of contact you do not need my exhaust.

I have recently gone the other way and fitted a freeflow longlife rear section off Ebay from a 1.9 to my 2.8 and all fits apart from the slight difference in flange/pipe sizes where they join just behind the cat.
However nothing too difficult to overcome and all hanging points are identical.
I can certainly recomend the longlife exhaust rear box as although not knowing the full history of the exhaust, it certainly looks well made and the sound is much more what the car should sound like.
Not sure if there would be much difference in a longlife 2.8 exhaust as regards sound/performance as I presume both would be of a similar straight through construction and at least now the flattened section of pipe is gone.
