Eisenmann quad exhaust
Eisenmann quad exhaust
Good morning All
I'm looking at fitting a Eisenmann exhaust to my new Z and after looking on the Eisenmann website I think I have fallen for the quad set up as they show one on a Z similar to mine and it looks awesome But it is worth the £1100 they want for it ?
So my question is, has anyone fitted one to a 3.0 and was it worth it ?

Re: Eisenmann quad exhaust
I've seen those for around 800 on a group buy in the past.
Was going to get one but didn't bother in the end.
Bit more noise for a lot of money

Re: Eisenmann quad exhaust
BMG I was think of buying an M and taking the pipes off and fit on my car but it worked out cheaper just to buy an Eisenmann quad !! And I didn't want the hassle of trying to sell the rest of the M in bits !!
Re: Eisenmann quad exhaust
Yours is a great looking black 3.0 Z3. The thing that would put me off fitting the M style exhaust would be if I had to lose the battery tray and emergency wheel.
The Eisenmann prices above don’t sound too bad if that includes the whole system including a cat.
When Alpina worked on the Z4 producing a luxury version with similar performance to the Z4M, they didn’t bother with the quad pipes, they kept twin pipes but with the usual bespoke Alpina stainless steel exhaust that looked slightly larger bore. The car still sounded fantastic – just as good as a quad pipes.

Thanks Del I didn't realise I would have to lose the battery tray too ! Just thought the spare wheel would have to go. More considerations then me thinks.
I also thought £1100 was for the whole system ! Will give Eisenmann a call in the morning.

I'm not 100% sure this is the case but I know it can be a problem - I believe Southernboy who is a regular on the forum (with a quad exhaust on his 2.8) had to get his moved.Woody1000 wrote:Thanks Del I didn't realise I would have to lose the battery tray too !

Re: Eisenmann quad exhaust
Someone use my name in vain??? Yes, I did the full conversion...moved the battery to the center by creating a new recess for it..the spare went to my mechanic for letting me use his tools and workshop with hoist etc for free...I cut out the old battery area, and replaced the floor of the boot from just left of center to the right where the old battery tray used to be. The bracket under the car for the spare was removed, and the full new exhaust installed from the engine manifold headers all the way back...did the cut out for the extra pipes, fitted OEM exhaust brackets to suspend the new section of exhaust...
Is it worth it? all day long...the sound from those quads is music to my motoring soul...
What about a spare?? What spare...I carry a mini-compressor (compliments of one of the members here) and a puncture repair kit for tubeless applications...I also carry a can of the squirt in the valve stuff which is ideal for minor punctures.
As a matter of fact, if you do get a puncture...where will you put the removed punctured wheel...it will fit in the boot, but you'll need to tie the boot lid down to prevent it getting banged about on the wheel rim...also you'll need some protection for your wheel rim from the boot lid on it....so, I prefer my solution of a compressor and repair kit...apart from which, I've yet to get my first ever puncture in a car...The best part is the sound though...the performance improvement may be measureable, but even if it's 2 HP...it's still worth the aesthetics...I never liked that lump on the right side with the spare stored in it...

Re: Eisenmann quad exhaust
...ah, the Badman...There's nought wrong with 4 pipes on any car...if it can handle the upgrade...it's like the intake manifolds on the Z3's (non M)...they were made to restrict the intake for emissions control purposes...the exhausts were done the same...catted, restricted, generally a "green" conspiracy to prevent a full appreciation of the Z's potential...so Mr.Badman...stuff that in your pipes and smoke it...

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

BMG do you want to sell your quad exhaust ?
I think I might forget the quad system as I wouldn't want to upset BMG and try and make my car look like an M
Might just get a Nissan GTR that's got quad exhaust which BMG can stare at when his behind me on the motorway !!! LOL

Re: Eisenmann quad exhaust
Ok ok no more !
I'm going to get the car up in the air and see what's involved for myself.
I think the quad looks fantastic and I don't mind losing the spare wheel just concerned about moving the battery tray !
Also need to confirm what I actually get for £1100 ! I would want to replace the whole system but if £1100 is just for the back boxes I might just leave it !
Thanks for all the comment tho.

Re: Eisenmann quad exhaust
Rafolian had a quad pipe exhaust for a 2.8 for sale at £250 + postage very very recently.
see here: http://www.zroadster.net/forum/viewtopi ... 99#p360899
Not sure if it will fit a 3.0 but I am sure it would not take too much modification as it is mainly the back boxes you need that improve the looks.
I am sooo tempted myself

At £165 might be worth making them fit but my only concern would be they are from a M.
BMG would this be allowed ? LOL

Re: Eisenmann quad exhaust
OP.. There's a few places people have used that custom build you an exhaust.. Why not go for something like that? I'm sure its cheaper than 1100

Re: Eisenmann quad exhaust
Those M pipes are a bargain!! But you would need to do some modification to the underside of the car to fit them...including moving the battery to the center of the boot floor etc etc...lots of work, but once completed, it's worth every penny invested..
Some people have tried the set-up where the "new" set of pipes is grafted onto the existing system at the rear, and simply does a sharp twist / turn to exit on the right...I must say, it gives "the look" but I can't see the point of doing a cosmetic makeover. Either go the distance or stick with the OEM and de-cat..

I thought you had to have a cat on every car ? And what benefit is it to remove it ? I'm a mod novice !

Re: Eisenmann quad exhaust
Cats choke the flow, and they make the car a lot quieter because of the restriction...it's like another silencer box....If you must have one for MOT's then I guess you have to keep it..

I am happy to sell my spare set for a lot less than £160!!

Re: Eisenmann quad exhaust
Don't know about the eisenmann, but the quad system Iv'e just removed from my 2.8 didn't require the battery being moved, just losing the spare and obviously another cutout on the bumper. Also, even with twin cats its loud. (Beautiful sound though!)
Re: Eisenmann quad exhaust
Eisenmann always sound great but the fit can be poor for what they cost.
