I think this is the club you are looking for.

http://www.bmwcarclubgb.co.uk/rm/intro.asp

You need to join as a member (£45.00) then join the Z register (another £5.00)

Here is the joining page:

Phil (Phil Rosenbloom) is the Z Register Chairman

I'm sure he will explain the club/register fully if you need more info.

If you do decide to join mention Phil's name when you apply

Nothing is as frustrating as arguing with someone who knows what he's talking about.

Come on Phil / John what about big discounts on insurance particularly if agreed valuations reqd, merchandise, models, books, regional meets, register get togethers, monthly mag (on par with BMWcar / Total bmw IMO) and the sense of belonging.
The Z Register is certainly set to grow in 2010 (ask Phil!! :rtm: ) and so the more members willing to contribute both articles for mag and on bmwcc forum aswell as on here the better. steveH

Just looking at my new bmwcc literature and I see there is no Z register chairman and therefore no address to send my z register application form too. I also noticed in the magazine that the post is up for grabs if anyone is interested , hurry up if you are so I can join and get another sticker. Cheers

All you have to do to get your sticker is apply to the club office.

As the previous chairman I still appear to be getting the forms so dont worry about it.

You could even apply to be the new chairman

A Call for your help!!!!

Post by steveH »

Having relinquished the position of Z Register chair it is very disappointing that no-one has offered themselves to pick up where PhilR left off.
It is a real shame that the Z is BMW's only Roadster and having been part of the trio of articles recently run in the Straight Six mag, with many contributions from members off this forum, still not one volunteer.
Surely many owners have gained from being members of the car club in one way or another(??) and as one of the biggest (in number) Registers in the car club then someone must be interested??
I would have thought the position would suit someone off here as enthusiasts and have instant access across the whole range Z1 to Z8.
IF you feel willing to give it a good go then contact me through pm or email (address in mag under Register Directors report.
Thanks in anticipation steveH

I *am* a member of BMWCCA, as well as ZSCCA (Z Sports Car Club of America). I drive a 2002 Z3, 3.0i, and just love it! It replaced a motorcycle, when I decided that I had wrecked too many of them, and didn't want to go through that again. Plus, my insurance company would likely have made it not something that I would want to continue, had I tried to insure another motorcycle, after wrecking to touring bikes. So, decided it was time to give it up. Went with a Z3, and have never regretted it.

Mine is titanium silver, with a Dream Red interior, something that gets lots of compliments wherever I take it. I really get a kick out of driving around town 'topless'. Mine came also with a removable hardtop, which only goes on for about three months is the coldest part of winter. Other than that, it hangs from the ceiling in my garage.

I try to baby my Baby. Clay Bar treatments at least once a year, dusting it off whenever it gets even a light coat of dust, frequently covering it, even inside the garage -- you get the idea.

You've spotted that in the BMWCC Straight Six magazine then

I'll put together a little intro to formalise the appointment on here (and other z related forums) over the next week or so. I'm also considering a name change to Ian C and a sig change to make it easier for people to relate my posts to that of the z register chair (I'll make it obvious that I was 'previously myredzed') - what do you think?

Essentially it involves keeping zeds in the spotlight within the BMWCC (i.e. in the BMWCC mag, BMWCC forum & other zed forums), coordinating the sub-registers (z1, z3, z4 & z8) and looking after the actual z register. 'Keeping the zeds in the spotlight' can involve all manner of things but could be anything from getting zed articles together for the mag to organising BMWCC led zed meets.

Thanks for the votes of support everyone.

ps. so what does anyone think about me changing my forum name then?

Sounds good Ian, well you are already accomplished in organising cruise/events so should be right up your street.

Changing your username seems appropriate considering your new role and if as you say you keep your "Myredzed" reference everybody who knows you now won't get confused and new members here or to BMWCC won't know any different anyway, go for it.

I have not looked at this forum for a while - and suddenly we have a resurgence of interest in the Z Register!

After Phil retired, the overall Z Reg is now looked after by Ian Conieul, and the job of keeping an eye on the Z3 section and writing a bit for Straight Six every month fell on me.

Obvioulsy, living in France means that I cannot take an active role in organising events etc, so perhaps things will change in the future - if there is enough enthusiasm, a quality which has been markedly absent for years!

Phil-Very true words--spoken with years of experience.--BUT!!! The Club has to cater for Many different Model owners, and the forum page Has to provide TWENTY sections to appeal to those owners, otherwise they will feel neglected, and not a good reason to Pay to join a club, that ignores their P & J.-But--have you seen our Club Magazine-- :D

I think you will agree that the Z Register section receives More daily posts than ALPINA!!!--hopefully that "IS" about to change--(From an Alpina B7 Turbo-27years- Nutter)
