We changed our other car (1999 Audi A6 1.8T SE saloon) a couple of weeks ago through the scrappage scheme. Bit of a shame to see the old girl go to scrap but the deal was just too good to miss. We've now got a VW Passat R-Line Estate with the 140bhp diesel engine and DSG.
Initial impressions are good; the DSG combined with autohold is a revelation and makes for a very relaxed driving experience.
There's a couple of things I'll be looking to add over the coming months (clear or tinted bumper indicators, bluetooth, ipod integration), I just need to let the 'newness' wear off a bit first
Here's a couple of pics:
The only slight frustration is the current lack of a towbar option for the R-Line. Although not stated in the brochure, the current VW offerings do not fit My dealer is on the case with VW over this (apparently I'm not the first to ask for a towbar on the R-Line). I'm not in a massive rush for one but would like to have something in place for next summer (and preferably a VW detachable unit).
And now for something completely different...

Seems strange to be scrapping a car which is younger than your zed. Mind you if someone offered me scrappage on my zed I would probably punch their lights out (metaphorically speaking).
You could always fit a towbar to your zed - BMW make a lovely one....

Cheers R.

It did feel wrong to be scrapping a perfectly good car. The VW offer on scrappage was more than twice the £2k highlighted in the press though, just too good to refuse.Robert T wrote:Seems strange to be scrapping a car which is younger than your zed.

Hey, great to see another 2.0 TDi Estate owner, I somehow feel less shame than before
If we're into sharing pics of our dirty secrets, here's mine.
and I think a few people have already met "Brucie"
and this one's also been seen on a Midlands Midweek Meander
Not a baby in sight

I'll try and find some piccies of my more shameful cars - last one was a silver Rover 200 and the one before was a metallic blue Austin Rover Metro 1.0L.
I've only ever driven one estate car and that was a hire car - Volvo V40 T4 - in Sweden in December in about six inch of snow.
Cheers R.
