Merry Christmas Billi :D

I got by far the best quote by going through Adrian Flux - comparison sites and Direct Line were quoting £700 - £800 for my Z3m with 5,000 miles per annum - Flux got it down to £450 with protected NCB!

That was for 27 y/o, 8 years no claims and car left on my driveway overnight. Thankfully I'm moving in six weeks to a house with garage - be interesting to see what effect this has on the insurance bearing in mind I'm only going half a mile down the road!

Be interesting to see who gets insurance from where :)

i was with tesco last year and paid around £300, then when my renewal came it had shot up, so looked around all different places and comparison sites and ended up with sheilas wheels. costs me £240 for the year. Thats for myself 30 year old female with 9 years no claims and my hubby, 31 year old male with 3 points for speeding. has voluntary excess of £350 and includes legal protection. thats with estimated annual mileage of 5-6000 per year. no security devices and kept on driveway.

we used to be with adrian flux with our old campervan, again was good for the first year, but renewal price shot up, which sadly seems to be the case these days.

Hi, I used Adrian flux, 2nd car no no claims as I have a Company car, I am 36 and it was £350 ish.
I found them very good to deal with as well, with know admin charges for plate changes etc.

As it isn't your main car you might want to take a look at an Admiral Multi-Car policy.

We have an 09 Alfa Mito 155 Veloce and the 3.0 Z3 with two drivers on both cars for just over £600. Admittedly that's with two lots of full NCB.

Another vote for Adrain Flux here,

No massive chrage for telling them what wheels I actually have on the car.

Have been with direct line for years, they were 2nd cheapest.

Think it was about £500 for my LHD 2.8 z3 coupe, 27yrs old 3 points 7 yrs NCB, garaged.

Luckily it is my only car, i'd hate to leave it in the garage ever!

Try Swiftcover, they will be listed on the likes of meerkats & others
then go to http://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/homestoned

you will see the quotes will be similar to any other comparison site

but buy through these guys they will refund to you the commission they make....
my 2000 Z3 2.0, factory fitted anti theft, driveway, swindon
fully comp, 7000 miles pa, windscreen, breakdown, £350 excess
me 37, 4 years no claims, no points
£200 & after 2-3 months i got my commission back £28
So insured for £172 !!!

I've just been quoted £208 full comp from Aviva - sort of doubles to £395 when I put drifting son on it too tho.......

Interesting enough, Adrian Flux could not even quote me for the Z4M ... Stuck with Churchil in the end for £380, including the multi car discount.

My insurance.

My renewel with Saga for Z3 3ltr was £350up from £296, my MG ZT 160+ was £320 from Saga up from £275, Never claimed anything since getting licence in 1967 and never had convicition of any kind! Phoned More Than, difficult with call centre language staff but was quoted £221 for Z3 and £196 for MG fully comp etc exactly same conditions as Saga, Saga said they would not try to keep me by giving better quote (been with them for many years) and that I should shop around. No more Saga. JBD :D

I don't understand how insurance works sometimes.

When I bought my M, my insurer at the time said they couldn't cover me as they don't provide cover people under 30 on engine sizes above 3L! Not sure whether that was BS or not. Ironically I had the same when I bought my old car back in 2007 - MoreThan said they don't cover 2L and above under 30!

I won at the end of the day as with a bit of shopping round I got a better policy with a lower excess each time for a very small hike in price.
