Hi all,
Just wandered if anyone knows the answer to this. Will be fitting new alloys to my 1 Series soon going from 7x16 ET44 with 205/55s to 8x18 fronts 225/40 ET47 and 8.5x18 rears 245/35 ET50. I have been told I will need to have an alignment done once fitted, first I've heard of this
Anyone know for sure?
Cheers,
Tim.
New alloys & wheel alignment

Sounds good - will there be a sequel video ????TitanTim wrote:........Will be fitting new alloys to my 1 Series soon going from 7x16 ET44 with 205/55s to 8x18 fronts 225/40 ET47 and 8.5x18 rears 245/35 ET50
As for alignment, the only reason I can see why it should need changing is if there are different recommended angles of castor and toe for the new tyre and rim combination.
Otherwise, if it's correct now, it will take a mighty hamfiisted fitter to damage it

Haha did someone mention video? watch this space, then again maybe not
Cheers for the info, I can't really see the castor angles or toe will be much different, the alloys I'm fitting are off an E46 Club Sport, still BMW and virtually the same offset for the 18's BMW recommend for the 1 Series, I'm sticking with the tyre sizes BMW recommend also so I don't see it should cause probs, I hope. Only thing I'm changing is going from runflats to a mans tyre
Be glad when I get them fitted as the weather has put the kybosh on it the past few weeks
Tim.
