The ZRoadster Search Engine

Post by Robert T »

Our search engine is not very bright and when searching for common terms it will return lots of useless threads. Besides using Michael Googlee with site:zroadster.net, the other way to find threads easily is to use obscure search terms. So here is the challenge, can you come up with search terms that just return a couple of useful threads. Here's a couple to get you started:

impregnating - for threads on re-waterproofing roofs

nephew and hole - for threads on removing the headlight switch

housebrick - for threads on the earlier type of Z3 alarm

So can you come up with any more obscure than mine?

Cheers R.

As you've already cited my nephew hole solution, how about

cat and blanket - to protect you rear screen and hood ?

I have found Titan Tip quite useful to put & in between the words which seems to help take out what you don't want, but yes I find it quite frustrating and just easier to put a post up and wait for the "try the search" replies

I found this thread whilst searching for impregnating housebricks on a DIY forum

Would probably make sense to petition the mods/site owner to upgrade to the latest version of the forum software (phpBB). Looking at the list of improvements between 2.x and 3.x, search has been updated somewhat!

As per OPs reference to Google - if you put the following in to google you may get some better results than the native search...

site:zroadster.net required search term
