Hi All, thought I would just let you know about a forthcoming trip in my little red Z3.
Leave Wrexham North Wales on 23rd July at 14:00
Catch Dover to Calais Ferry at 20:00
Calais to Aldover Near Barcelona spain. (Through the night)
Stop at Millau at around 08:00am For Pic's and breakfast.
Spend a week in a Finca
Aldover to Benidorm for 3 Days.
Benidorm to Nice, Then Monaco.
Return through the Swiss Alps. 14 day trip.
Total round trip of around 3,000 miles.

Anyone done something similar? would like to hear about your trip and any tips you have.

My trip goes something like this:-

11/06/2010 - Sail Hull Zeebrugge

12/06/2010 - Drive Strasbourg stay over 2 nights

14/06/2010 - drive to Lake Constance via black forest stay over 2 nights

16/06/2010 - drive Landeck stay over 3 nights popular with bikers and z3 owners it seems

21/06/2010 - Drive Nice stay over 1 night

25/06/2010 – Drive Zeebrugge evening sail to Hull

Not sure how many miles ask me when I get back

One thing I do know, I just checked the mpg on the Zed and it’s about 26 so it won’t be cheap

I have all the routes as seperate TomTom itn files if any one wants them

You stand a reasonable chance of missing your ferry from Dover if you only give yourself 6 hours on Friday afternoon, I've done the trip to Folkestone a few times from Manchester (about 20/30 mins short of Dover) it's a good 4 1/2 hours when the roads are quiet.
You'll be hitting Dartford/M4/M3 somewhere between 5 & 6 o'clock - car park!

Good Point with the travelling time to Dover, 14 :00 is the latest, will probably be gone by 12:00. Thanks For The Heads Up.

I tried the Portsmouth to Bilbao ferry they wanted £950 return?

As for the cost of my journey:

Ferry=£80 Return.
£425 for Fuel.
£120 for Tolls.

Total=£625 Bargain!

Promise some good Pics, Hope the Old Girl Behaves Herself. Cost me a small fortune to get her ready. Full Service & Lub, Brake reline, Front wishbone bushes. 4 wheel alignment, dent removal (non essential But Hey Ho).

OK all done: Left Calais at 21:30pm Friday arrived Tortosa spain at 11:30am spent a week in a Finca, then to Benidorm for three days, then on to Alicante for a night, up to Bilbao for a night, Left Bilbao at 09:30 arrived home at 03:30am.
Total miles covered over two weeks 3,650. Old girl ran like a dream with no problems whatsoever, used half a litre of engine oil. What a car!!!!.

i can recommed the Gran Bali Hotel in Benidorm anyone thinking of spending some time there, rooms were fantastic, Food was exellent, and the hotel is the highest in europe.http://www.realbenidorm.net/hotels/gran ... idorm.html
