Are you too old for a convertable?

Post by Devon Z »

According to James May in this months Top Gear magazine the optimal age for a convertable is 44 and at the age of 47 he was giving them up.

I'm 49 and not giving up yet!!.

There is a guy who must be in at least his 80s, with and MG of similar vintage, that turns up at quite a few of the car shows round here regularly - gives me hope that you are NEVER too old for a convertible!

Cheers R.

Bought my Z3 2.8 3 years ago at age 62. My first drophead and loving it top down at every opportunity.
Not surprised by James May :clown: he comes across as an old fogey
and the Top Gear team are an entertaining bunch with :dunce: unrealistic opinions.

I got my 3.0l zed this year and my mother who is 93 loves it (as a passenger of course!), so age doesn't come into it if you enjoy it.

Depends how you view it. As car reviewers I feel not much cop but as entertainers I think theyre a good laugh, like naughty school boys  . I have really enjoyed some of their antics and races, e.g. crossing Vietnam on their bikes, the race across Japan, races with the Bugatti and Aston Martins against train and plane were all brilliant and crossing the English Channel

I guess it really depends on your sense of humour
