NorwegianBlue...Condolences - please read

Post by Deano1712 »

Neil's wife Sarah got in touch with me to leave a message on the forum:

Dear all,
I just wanted to let you know that Neil (NorwegianBlue) passed away last Monday after a long battle with cancer. I have met some of you guys and and know how much Neil enjoyed the rapport he had with you and your cars on the 'Z' drives. The last week has not been easy, and I am sorry that I could not tell you all personally.
Kind regards,
Sarah

I met Neil on several occasions, most recently in July on the last Yorkshire cruise I ran. He then was clearly poorly but in good form. I always thought Neil was a great bloke, a gent and a true Z enthusiast. He will be missed and my thoughts are with his family now.

This is really sad news. Neil was a top bloke who made countless valuable contributions to this site and made many friends along the way

My thoughts are with his wife and family.

Kinda puts things into perspective :|

I spent some time with Neil at the Yorkshire drive and he was talking to me about his health, he did seem very upbeat and loving life out in the Zed on that day.
He will be missed for his great company and massive input in collecting data on the MZ3 numbers.

My thoughts are with his family.

That is so so sad.
Neil was a regular attendee on the early Drive and Dines in his Phoenix yellow S54 and his car was one of the famous 3 phoenixs we had lined up one night.
He was the keeper of the S54 database and I know he wanted to find all 73 rhd cars.
He was a super bloke and will be sadly missed indeed.
Marise and I offer our sincerest condolences to Sarah and family.
Our thoughts are with you.
RIP Neil

RIP Neil.

Although I never met Neil personally I did communicate with him with regard to his S54 database and he was obviously passionate about the cars.

I'm sure through his great work on here his memory will stay with us and especially for future S54 owners.

I'm so sad to read this.

While I've been out of the Zed world for years now, I can clearly remember that it was through Neil that I got the bug for all things Phoenix Yellow and S54.

I'd gone round to his house to buy some chrome side gills for my old Z3, saw his Phoenix Yellow beauty on the drive, and there and then knew that in due course I had to have one. And I did.

As others have said, a great guy who did such a lot for this little community.

Really sad news.

As others, he and I conversed many times about the S54 register.
We would always email each other straight away when we found another car or piece of information to add to the list.
I shall see that spreadsheet with different eyes and feelings from now on.

My condolences to his family.

Alfie.

Such sad news
I thought I was all alone in Lincolnshire with my S54 and then one day, filling up Sharky with 99ron in Tesco's Lincoln,.............. I thought I was hallucinating................
A phoenix yellow S54 drove straight in front of me......... I think we were both as surprised as each other to see two such rare beasts in close proximity!
:o Neil was visiting his Mum.
I posted up a 'spotted' and he replied it was him.
I parked up between him and Paul (Spunky M- black S54 on the Yorkshire Cruise)
It was lovely to finally meet and they were both so kind to me ( even though I am a girl) and full of info and enthusiasm for my car.
He will so sadly missed and such a hard act to follow. God bless.

Life is full of little snippets and my snippet with Neil was when I spoke to him about his number (N3 BHP) and told him that my dad had N18 BHP. It seems nothing, but it's a memory.

Oh, and nearly running into the back of him on the same cruise.
