Would you rather own the oldest Z1 / Z3 / Z4 / Z8?

Most seem to think that newest is best at the moment, but how long before oldest is best? Is this when it really becomes a classic?

Oldest Mini = 621AOK
Oldest E-Type = 77RW (Chassis #3)

Is it better to own the first off the production line, or the last?

Personally, I'd rather own the oldest, but what do you think?

The first, the last would be a variation

Does that mean that Z1s & Z8s are "classics", but Z3s and Z4s aren't (yet)?

Interestingly, the MkIV Healey 3000 is the most sought after and therefore the most valuable, however the MkI Sprite is valued at considerably more than the MkII, III and IV. I guess it has to do with numbers built and the rarity and desirability of the cars.

With the zeds, there was little changed in the models throughout their production lifetime, so it is more a case of finding a car of the right spec and condition to me - for models that had different engines throughout their lifetime, then I'd pick the engine I wanted first.
