New Z4 on order :o)

Post by TitanTim »

Hi all,

Well finally took the plunge today and ordered a new Z4 2.0 M Sport so will be trading the 1 Series in, will be so sorry too see it go. The deal BMW are doing at the moment is very good and has worked out cheaper than a new 1 Series 1.6 M Sport I had specced up. They hadn't got a demo 2.0 in stock but drove the 2.3 and is a lovely car.

Hopefully delivery will be end of March :P

Anyways should hopefully look like this

I did Liam, but the deal BMW are doing of the 2.0 M sport is pretty good, i.e. M Sport upgrade is free and the dealer has contributed just over 7K towards deposit and fixed me a monthly payment of £299 per month 4.9% APR. I got a decent trade in on the 1er so happy with the deal.

Cheers Shanty, I'm unsure they will bring an M version out, but all the 6 cyl engines as far as I know are being phased out in favour of the new 2.0 four pots but I'm guessing in different states of tune too meet emission requirements. I think mine will be 181bhp then I think the 2.3 will stay badged as that but will be higher tuned version of 2.0 and so on. I think all models come with a sound generator :? apparently, I think too give a straight six sound

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Thanks for your wishes everyone  can't wait for the end of March

Spec is Titanium Silver, Coral red interior, Carbon aluminium trim. Alot of the kit is standard in M Sport spec, xenons, leather etc.

Only options I went for were heated seats and folding mirrors, I stayed away from ticking too many things as wanted to keep payments below £300 a month.

Only thing I wished I had added was front and rear parking sensors but its £600 :| Have them on the 1 series and theyre more useful than you think. I guess it will be touch parking from now on

Dealer wants my 1er next week otherwise it would have been £600 off the trade in price if I had kept it until the Zed arrives so will mean getting the 3 out of hibernation    :shake:

Zedonist wrote:Great choice in car Tim, think BMW have done a good job on this face lift, it seems wider and more purposeful, there is a white one with red leather opposite my house very nice car.

Can i ask about your choice of engine, i assume it is the 4 pot turbo, that replaces the 6 pot 2.3?
Cheers Zedonist, the engine model I've ordered is the new 2.0l turbo 4 cyl 181bhp and badged a 2.0l. The 2.3l will have the same engine and badged 2.3 but will kick out around 218bhp I think :rtm:

Cheers,

Obviously the best colour athough didn't you fancy one in Atacama yellow though? Saw one at Knights in Stoke the other day was quite nice actually. The mineral white is a lovely colour too.

The yellow does look fab but I'm thinking it might be an insect magnet in the summer :squeeze:

:) Your perfectly correct Ray, plan was too swap to an M this summer but the Z4 is a bit more than what I would normally shell out on a motor but the current dealer contribution of 7k was hard to resist

Congrats from me too, how many more sleeps do you have ?

I went out in my friends new 4 a couple of weeks ago, a fantastic car and so stylish too, that was silver with red inside, not my preferable first choice of colour as you know, but i certainly wouldnt say no to it, much nicer in the flesh.

Thanks alot Gill, delivery is down as the end of March which I thought was a bit early for BMW but earlier the better

I really wasn't sure what colour to go for, nearly went with pearl white but played safe with silver in the end  will be keeping it for 4 years and wandered if I would tire of white after a while. The dealer demo was the grey which looked spot on. Will be interested to see how the 4cyl turbo compares to the 2.3 6cyl I test drove.
