Battery chargers/conditioners
Battery chargers/conditioners
Having just bought a Ctek battery charger I was just wondering who else uses these?
Also is it ok to leave them on all the time? Like weeks I mean..
I have a Ctek MXS 5.0

Re: Battery chargers/conditioners
Hi Liam,
I use a Ctek battery conditioner/charger, & I leave it plugged into my cigarette lighter socket for the whole winter , while my car is SORN'ed.
I've done it for two whole winters now, & my battery is fine. I think that's what they were designed for, if i remember correctly, they go through charge/discharge cycles & adjust the charge according to things like temperature etc, so you shouldn't have any problems. I think they're great things.

They are the Dog's for chargers had them a a fews years now three
in total bike and cars they've never let me down
The best on the market
The one on the bike even has flashing lights, whilst using the bike or left standing
for a long period which it never is, it indicates if the battery is low
You can get several attachments even direct to the battery,
the cigar lighter i feel is the best way on the Z, the battery on the sprite

Re: Battery chargers/conditioners
They seem very good.. Badman gee recommended I get one after I had to replace my battery as it wouldn't start after the last cold snap..
As a result I've put the old battery on a Recond program to see if will sort it out.. Will See what it's showing in the morning
If all is ok with the old battery then maybe I've wasted money buying a new one...

I charge mine on the batt terminals and put the leads through the front grill.
You can lock the car that way and leave the alarm on.
They can be left on as long as you want.
Re: Battery chargers/conditioners
Agree with others a great little charger I charge via the ciggy lighter and just leave it on all winter and forget about it. Its the Z4s turn this winter so I've had to connect using the underbonnet terminals and it will only just stretch between the positive and negative, shame the ciggy lighter isn't permanently live. Seems ok and been charging away since end of Oct.

I have used one for 2 winters and keep it plugged in for several weeks at a time, great item.
