BMW Value Line

Post by pingu »

Watch out for BMW Value Line stuff.

These pt nos. and prices are for the 330, but I'm sure the same is available for other models...

Set of front pads (34116779652) = £95

Set of the same brake pads (+ a wear sensor) in a Value Line box (34112157573) = £65

The value line stuff is in a separate section on REALOEM...

It's the same box inside a cheap box :D .

The guy who sold me them said that it is mainly garages that use them.

I suspect that they bill the customer for them separately and make £40 for opening a box  .

Value line has been about for about five years now.
When it was launched it was intended that after run out time they would changed the suppliers to cheaper products.
As with most of bmw's ideas it didn't take of as was badly marketed. They have run model range out to cover a lot more but a lot of the items are not in stock in gb.
Someone in bmw would have got a good bonus because ever dealer was auto issued about £15000 of stock. This meant that the same parts were kept twice. Bmw however sold loads which made figures look like it was a good idea.
Be careful as not all value line parts are cheaper, it's another bmw mess up
