Sad news - JR

Post by Phil »

I have just been informed that John Rowley (JR) passed away this afternoon. He had been suffering from bladder cancer but seemed to be on the mend but in October had a stroke and it was discovered he had a brain tumour.
A few of us visited him at home last Wednesday and he was very poorly but this afternoon sadly he passed away.
RIP John my good friend

Very sad news indeed.

John had been with us on zroadster.net since 2004 and attended many of the runs organised via zroadster.net in his Red 2.8 with his wife Jean.

He was a lovely man and I know I'm not alone in saying that he will be missed very much.

Shocked to hear this. So sad. RIP John. I spent an hour with him at a meet in August. I had no idea he had been ill. He will be greatly missed. An interesting and entertaining man. How cruel this life can be :-(

Very sad to read this. I always enjoyed our little chats and met him at the same meeting as Deano in August. I knew about his illness, but he was still living life to the max.

John, I will miss you.

Very sad news.

We have lost a top bloke, a hugely enthusiastic Zedder/driver, always massive fun and as humble as they come.

Rest In Peace John.

Condolences to Jean, family and friends.

Such a sad loss.
We're so glad that we managed to spend a couple of hours with JR last week.
It was an honour and a real pleasure to have known him.

Our thoughts are with Jean, Wendy and his family.

I didn't know John, but looking at the photos of him I wished I had. What a lovely smile, you could tell just from looking at the pics that he was a really nice genuine guy. A lovely couple. My condolences to his wife and family.

So sad to hear JR has passed. Our condolences to Jean and the family. We have had many a good laugh with John and Jean for probably 10 years on cruises all over the country. We always used to joke about the slower cars in the group and the evening banter was just great. A fab down to earth hard working chap and one I looked forward to seeing on cruises. He used to push that red car hard and loved the faster runs.

RIP buddy - you will be missed.

Err Gary --- the funerals Wednesday. I know you are travelling up on Tuesday but it's Wednesday just in case anyone else wants to attend.

I hope everybody gives JR a great send off, I sadly can't make it as I'm away but Jo is going along to represent us - we both thought a lot of him and I'm pretty gutted to not be able to make it.

Today went as well as expected, the sun was shining although it was a bit chilly.

Flowers were excellent, one resembled JR's Red Z3 even having the same Reg No.

The first piece of music to be played as we entered the service was............The Chain by Fleetwood Mac, the section for the F1 theme tune, that made everyone smile :D
