Northern Highlights

Post by stu »

Thanks to our friends who joined us this weekend and helped us to have a fantastic run and loads of fun (even without the sheep).

It's a pity more of you couldn't have made it (you know who you are), but there's always next time.

Pictures please from those who had the cameras at the ready!

Anyone fancy a Big Z Roadster run in 2007 since we didn't have a 'Lakes weekend'?

Northern Highlights ... a true delight

Post by BartS »

A very BIG thank you to Stu & Sylv for an absolutely fantastic weekend up north.

Got home 18:30, 740miles in 48 hours, 23mpg (thanks to drive home) would have been 21 mpg or less if had not locked my fuel cap properly :head: :head:

To say the roads were great would be an understatement, the weather gods were kind to us, am sure we even got a tan over last 48 hours.

Will get the pictures hopefully sorted tomorrow at work and will send a download link with the hi-res data; and time permitting will post some lower-res ones on the board for everybody to enjoy.

Many thanks to Sylv dad's for the great wine and all those attended for being such great company; a truly fantastic weekend and one of the best Zed weekends experienced in the last 5 years!

THANKS

Bart & The Lovely Sarah!!!

Hmm, 5 hours to get there, only 4 to get back..... Do you think I required the toilet when I got in?,

Cheers for a top weekend, and some food venues to rival the best that Spokey has found. :)

Guys - superb as ever; was truly gutted I had to leave last night, particlualy as the pints were arriving!

I KNOW you had a superb time today, here are a few shots from yesterday.

Thanks for your company 8-)

Cheers to StuB and Silv for organising, superb roads, sumptuous cuisine and fantastic company (as ever) made for an excellent excuse to get the Panther out again!

Wow....what a tremendous 2 days. The roads and the runs were the best ever, Well done Stu! Tight twisties, long fast straights, got airborne and sideways once or twice

The food was excellent, every plate was empty after we had finished. Again thanks Stu and Sylv for 2 very good 3 course meals (in one day).

We all had a great time, great company.

Nic and I hope everybody had a safe trip home. We got home about 4pm and clocked up about 520 miles, 400 of them on the twisties.

Thank you Stu and Slyv for organising and thanks to everyone else who attended.

Tony and Nic.

As a consequence of what I thought were controversial recent comments regarding driving in large groups etc. after the Big Cheese, I thought it best to keep numbers low and to accomodate people who's driving skills and pace were known.

The run was organised at very short notice, so I needed to confirm all bookings and when we couldn't get many rooms for 1 night, there was no way I could advertise it to a wider group.

Those that did come along have been asking for some time for another 'Yorks' run and when the opportunity arose, I put this together for them.

If people would like to take part in any future runs I organise, then you know where I am.

Like a lot of others here, I've done a lot of organising and I've also attended a number of runs organised by others, but if I organise something, it's up to me how it works. My runs are 'spirited' and on some very 'interesting' roads. There is a time and a place for everything and next years Big Z Roadster cruise is probably more suited to a mixed group.

The comment in the original post still stands too, so if you really are interested, then why not respond to that with some positive ideas?

Oh I see. It's just that I thought the comment on the first post:

implied that it was publicised and I'd somehow missed it. I would have loved to known about it - being from Yorkshire it would have been very local for me. Guess I wasn't worthy of an invite

Really, I am kidding though. I have been planning a spectacular Dales / Washburn Valley / Pately Bridge drive for a few weeks now. And was going to put a post up on the forum within the next few days. All welcome 8-)

Top banana.

Can I come? I'll understand if you're offended though, not being invited to my party

If you want any help/advice just give me a shout. I'm not so hot on the West Yorks roads (rains too much over there), but East & North I know a few good ones.
