Cotswold Drive and Dine Sunday Nov 9th

Post by Phil »

I am planning a drive starting at Gaydon - 10.30am -- touring the Cotswolds - about 80 miles --and then a late lunch.
The drive will be scenic rather than fast but will include the likes of Fish Hill etc and will have some quick roads interspersed with the scenic bit.
If you are interested post below.

Hi Phil

Can I ask what the route is that you have in mind (rough route will do) as I live I'm in the Cotswolds anyway -80 miles is a bit far for me but I would love to join in somewhere along the way if this would be ok?

Besides, I think it's only fair I have a head start with 4M's, a Z4 and a z1 in the running, otherwise it'll be like the hare and the tortoise and you'll all be on the pudding by the time I get to the pub in my Z3!!

Stick with me, I'm not a fast driver, I tend to stick to the speed limits as I need my licence for work.

I'm interested, but I am currently scheduled to be on travels in the evening, so no chance of me making it as things stand. I'll let you know if my work commitments change as I love the wolds.

Cheers R.

I have booked a lunch venue subject to a visit by The Navigator and me to check it out .
They require a pre order for the food and I will post the menu in a couple of weeks when it is finalised.
In the meantime any more interested in coming along?

I could well be interested... Been biding my time for a mega meet or something as I was hoping there would be somebody present that could point me in the right direction with this darned ticking noise I am getting from my M Roadster (sounds like a sewing machine under the bonnet).

Anyways, as I live in Bristol, seems like a fairly close(ish) meet to put a few faces to names here...

6 of us did tried out the route today and had a superb lunch at the venue which is now confirmed as The Deddington Arms Hotel at Deddington.
http://www.deddington-arms-hotel.co.uk/
The drive includes Sun Rising Hill, Fish Hill, Lady Elizabeth Hill, Dovers Hill, the wicked road between Ilmington and Mickleton and the full lengh of the B4035 from Shipston. The route is about 85 miles long.
Shortly I will post the menu as we have to pre order food and this has to be confirmed about 1 week in advance. Once ordered you are committed to pay for the food so if you fail to turn up the rest of us will have to foot your bill.
I have reserved provisionally 30 places but at this moment the number is flexible.
Watch the message board for the details over the next few days.
