Hi all,
I will be there in what is now affectionately known as the 'togmobile'.
Rob T has a tow rope so between us we will be known as the 6th emergency service.
I have 2800kg of towing capacity................ your mission............, if you should choose to accept it is to guess what it is!
P.S Spokey will have an apoplectic fit.
Gazza , no
excuse for not bringing the stang.

No offence intended, but Grimsby just isn't the kind of place to do a cruise. Roads are no fun. So I've re-arranged, it will still start off and end in the same place, but the lunch stop will be elsewhere...
And I've found some lovely roads!

do you actually like driving at all or are cars to you just a manifestation of some sort of pathological mother complex ?
I will confirm shortly, but it is looking likely that I will be coming, and as long as it isn't forecast a monsoon, I will be in Froggy.
G, we want to see the 'stang, or at least the t-bird, so I'm offering to put a tenner in the fuel pot to get you up there.
Note to self, buy haemorrhoid cushion at weekend, my seats are not going to be feeling so comfy after 250 miles.
Spokey, do you have a TomTom itinerary? Froggy has satnav.
I have also purchased and auxiliary fuel tank.
Cheers R.

Sorry folks. Work has upended my plans for this weekend and I can't run the cruise any more.
Anybody want to suggest another date? 2nd or 9th of May, perhaps?

2nd is looking doubtful for me - now working away on Friday.
Probably wise not to make it a bank holiday weekend if we want some clear roads. 9th is already out for me. 23rd is another bank holiday weekend and 30th is the first day of Tatton classic car show, so I will be going to that.
Can anyone manage the 16th of May?
Cheers R.

OK, I believe there's some piffling French race on the weekend of the 13th. So I guess we'll go for the 20th.

We can do the 20th, but it clashes with the bloody cat & fiddle weekend run Spokey! Looks like I'll need a full weekend pass then (a.k.a. Huge bouquet!).
It'll most likely be a car with Le Mans winning pedigree (ok a diesel Audi!). I'll have had enough of exotic supercars by then anyway

Ordinarily it might be fun to bellow along in the 500E to shatter the peace (love the idea that our non-Z cars might not be able to hack the pace of a normal Z cruise - my Z wouldn't see which way either of my other cars went), but I'm going to a wedding in Kent that w/end.

You old men, desperate to get your Willy's out (ok I know it's not a Willys pickup, but just play along for the sake of a joke - oh and I know a V8's pickup's not as good as a diesel Golf either)garythefish wrote:I know !, I feel the same.... but I want one of thesespokey wrote:NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!garythefish wrote:13th is a no go for me.

You can beg all you like but for a big old barge, the 500E is remarkably capable - I reckon its storming kickdown acceleration would probably overcome the handling deficit (which isn't as great as you might think - the suspension was heavily worked over by Porsche) on all but the twistiest roads.spokey wrote:I beg to differ!RacingTeatray wrote:my Z wouldn't see which way either of my other cars went

Since you have the similar 130i, I don't feel the need to explain the 135i's advantages!
