National Concours and picnic - Chatsworth House - 26th July
A 'don't miss' event - the best concours display this side of Pebble Beach!
The 2009 event comes to Chatsworth House in Derbyshire and you are all welcome to come and join us.
I am organising a BMW stand for us normal folk that are not entering the competition yet would like to park as a group in the display area - much like the one we had at Harewood on Fathers Day.
At £10 per car and it's occupants the admission price is a deal as well.
So pack up a picnic, bring the family and come and join us as our guests at the finest BMW gathering in the country.
Nick
Chatsworth is the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, one of Britain's best loved historic estates and the heart beat of the Peak District National Park. With famous works of art, a working farmyard, spectacular fountains and the finest shopping and eating, there is something for everyone to enjoy. In 2009 visitors will experience Chatsworth in the midst of a landmark Masterplan of restoration and development. Don't miss the chance to share in our most exciting year yet.

I think the opening times should be in that link on the first post.jonttt wrote:Nick
Is this on a first come first served basis to get into the BMW area like Harewood?
I'm definately up for it if you can clarify and opening times when you know them etc... thanks
There is no real limit to the space, as we have got use of the entire field - I can just keep moving backwards as each rank fills up.
No punitive health and safety issues here either, we can come and go as we please.. its just the earlier arrivals get pitched nearer the front.
Titan, you'll love this but just been reminded I'm taking my better half away that weekend to the CLA Gamefair at Belvoir castle near Nottingham ..........
but as its on our way home (was going to come back through the Peak District anyway ) we may be able to get there for lunch time by which time you'll have the barbie well under way

Any more for any more?
Is anyone else planning on attending this event
I understand from Nick that it's just a case of turn-up-and-pay-on-the-day unless you're entering the concourse competition.
We're planning on heading down on Saturday and doing a B&B somewhere in the vicinity.
Does anyone with local knowledge have any recommendations (or warnings ) please?

Does anyone know where our stand will be and can we pay at the gate?
I must say I am really lookng forward to meeting people and seeing what mods have been done.
My car is 100% standard It's not been touched it except for cleaning of course since buying it a few weeks ago.

Well who was there?
I made it about 11.30 and met Desiro as I was driving in (sorry we didn't get chance to chat) but didn't see anyone else. Granted we spent most of the day in the gardens / house but didn't recognise any of the few Z3's I could see
Had an "interesting" drive back through the peaks in the drizzle

We woz there!
Went into the house as it opened at 11:00 then wandered round the gardens.
Left about 14:00 and had the roof open!
Grabbed a bite to eat at a lovely little cafe in Baslow before returning to the hotel in Chesterfield.
Staying over tonight and hoping for more sun tomorrow
Sorry we missed you.

Desiro, you should have said but I didn't realise we would not have chance to chat, given the weather we spent a lot longer in the house than we would normally and when we got back you had all gone
I'm looking forward to Tatton parkon the 6th Sept. I am taking a picnic no matter what the weather
Chatsworth concours
